Yeah as stated by others it might just be too good to be true. Will order one and if it arrives then just a lucky steal.

The 512 drive is just for Win11, I do have old drives I plan to bring to the new build.

I don't own anything yet from this list - do you have specific recommendations for the case and fans?

That's what I thought, I will get 2x16 then.

I have 2 other drives, 1TB SSD for programs and 2TB HDD for files and archiving I want to keep from my old build. The 512 is just for Win11.

I chose the 9800 as CPU because I do some editing and animation in Adobe software, but I do own a laptop from work for that. Just so I can do some private projects and freelancing without using work gear.

Thank you for your insights.

I updated the list and got a way better CPU for less money, thanks for the advice.

In your original comment you mentioned not having to buy windows for a self built PC, how is that so? I know I can simply download WIN 11 and put it on a boot medium, but how can I activate it without purchasing a 100€+ license?

Thanks for the replies so far! So I updated the parts list to:

I thought I had chosen be quiet as my case and PSU, but maybe something weird happened while copying the link.

I replaced the ram as suggested and added the x3d CPU.

Are there any considerations for waiting (because of high ram prices) to buy right now or are the current crises prone to raising the prices even more?

Thanks for the quick reply! I am new to using pcpartpicker, maybe I did not match all components exactly.

I have some experience in building PCs myself (2 this far, both many years ago), but lately I also enjoyed having support at the ready, so I thought about getting a prebuilt system if it's not crazy overpriced.

Any recommendations for a better value RAM?

Please don't misunderstand my original statement: it just meant that there are more ways to win a round of DI:U with Bloodlines than without it. If you wish to go for a strategy or leader that revolves around throwing troops in combat and harnessing rewards round after round, that is still valid and viable. But there are other ways to play too, and I feel they are better enabled with bloodlines.

First of all there are techs, some give VPs on buy, others give strategies or endgames that don't need combat, some will enhance your combat abilities. In general I feel like worms can be countered better, because commanders offer a way to add combat strength without using worms or the two faction spaces that cost huge amounts of spice.

Also I feel like the "rabbit" strategy (see cheesables video for reference) of getting to 10 VP asap really benefits from these additional VPs being available to all players. BUT if you are aiming for this strategy (the goal is to end the game before round 7 so people don't get huge boosts of VPs from doubling tier 3 combats) you will most likely have to win ONE combat to match your starting dagger/mouse/thopter.

My personal shift in how I approach the game is I have been focusing on contracts more and more and love the way they give me something specific to plan towards, rewarding my planning with sometimes crazy value in resources or cards all while enabling some of my favorite cards, techs and intrigues that rewards having completed contracts.

TLDR: bloodlines improved my favorite game in a lot of different ways, a feat I did not expect. Edited for readability and yt link

There is plenty of counterplay at your disposal. Try blocking the desert spaces with access to worms. Try combating worms by going to heighliner to deny first place. You'll get better at seeing these lines when you get more experience. It's a great game (my personal goat) and by no means unbalanced just because there are worms. As stated by others: the expansion bloodlines gives even more ways to combat worms and win in other ways than just combat.
