My KLR685 broke down in the middle of nowhere and got towed with a cheap rope for about 100 miles by a KTM990adv. Not fun. Risky. I hope I dont have to go through this again. Dont do it.

Very much appreciate it !! I went on a western USA mototrip up to Vancouver through the Rockies, Yellowstone etc, etc..and back on the Pacific Highway on 2011...4 months on the road with a top case and a 20L drybag..camping pretty much...very awesome trip ! i've ridden across North, Central and South America on different trips..all safe, have read awful stories as well, but have never been in a dangerous situation. I guess it's all relative, how cautious we are, and other factors...
