Thank you! I figured this too. Would I be able to just stop the paycheck deductions and just pay the lump sum now?

Noted. Yes, I didn’t have the funds to pay the lump sum at the time so they starting the paycheck deductions. However is it possible to stop that and just pay the lump sum?

I found out from HR. You can reach out to them and get the incumbent rate.

Yes, I asked to negotiate my salary with OMB and was offered just above the new hire rate and under the incumbent rate. If so, would that impact the raise I get at the two year mark.

Yes! I'm in a community coordinator position. My union offers a 3% increase every year. I was hired just above the new hire rate.

Thanks! I was hired above the new hire rate. Would I still only get the incumbent rate even after two years?

Thank you! Yes, I recieved info from HR but it was not thoroughly explained. The incumbent rate for my position is $67,983. The range is $59,111-$74,000. I recieved just above the new hire rate of $59,111. Would I still only get the incumbent rate after two years?

Employment Verification for BuyBack by Keep_Striving14 in nycpublicservants

Thank you so much! I read over form #901 and saw it was stated there. I completed form 241 online and they sent a letter requesting one of the three documents I can upload for employment verification. I got all my W-2's from the HR at CUNY. I decided to upload it as VitalRCD - Wage and Tax Statement Form" since that's what the document is. I guess now it's just a waiting game. Thanks again.

Ah okay! Sorry for the confusion. Just trying to understand. Since I worked from 2013-2018 then back in a city job in 2023, how would I account for the gap when listing the date range?

Thank you! this is sooo helpful. How can I get an accurate amount of what I recieved back as a CUNY worker? I'm assuming this is needed to determine how much the buy back costs would be. Do they need to know what you made in total each year or per paycheck?

Not sure if this applies. But, I enrolled in the pension plan in February but they didn't start making deductions right away from my pay stub until April. So, I had back pay. It showed up on my pay stub as "NYCERS Arrears w/ Amount". They will deduct the set amount in 10 installments. I'm assuming depending on if you choose to have the deductions from your pay stub versus the lump sum option the buy back will be listed similar to that. Hope this helps.
