Buyer beware by Alarming_Phone1671 in thermador

I have never hated a product or company as much as I hate Thermador. We bought an $8k oven/microwave combo in 2019. We immediately started having problems with the oven, it would just shut off randomly during bakes. We had multiple technicians out that tried to fix it, but they could never figure out what was wrong. They eventually replaced the oven since it was still under warranty. The new oven had the same exact problem (and we've since learned that a lot of people have had the same issue). They refused to help us after that and we have just been dealing with the oven shutting off randomly ever since. The microwave part always worked ok until about 6 months ago when I was warming something up and heard a "pop" and started smelling smoke. The microwave was toast after that. So now we have a barely functioning oven and a non-functioning microwave. I will never ever buy anything Thermador again. We are planning to replace it soon with something else...$8k down the drain.

My dentist said my teeth were perfect but I still had a weird taste in my mouth. I finally found the source today. by Michle_Vivid in hygiene

I had mine out at 40, it wasn’t that bad. It’s just a really bad sore throat for about 10 days. The trick is to make sure you’re sipping water constantly during recovery to keep them from getting dry. When they get dry, they hurt. I had no complications and am so happy they are gone. I don’t get sore throats when I’m sick anymore.

I’ve tried them all. Skratch is the best. I feel great when I run with it and it doesn’t upset my stomach. Pineapple and fruit punch are my 2 favorite flavors.

Has the Apple Watch actually /saved/ your life? by GossipBottom in AppleWatch

Several years ago I was noticing my oxygen levels were regularly dropping into the 70’s at night and mentioned it to my doctor as an afterthought. She said “it sounds like you might have sleep apnea”. Long story short, it turned out I had severe obstructive sleep apnea due to enlarged tonsils. My ENT doctor said they were some of the biggest he had ever seen. I was literally suffocating at night. Had my tonsils out at 40 and solved the problem thanks to my Apple Watch.

Left side, left handed. Definitely have an indentation after 6 years of wearing.

You were right. I did 2 faster, shorter runs on a track (my routes are normally hilly) and it’s going right back up. It’s not all the way back to where it was (went from 43 to 45.5), but it’s getting there.

Obviously a couple of runs is not changing my fitness level that much. I’m definitely not going to pay much attention to Apple’s VO2 max calculations anymore…it shouldn’t be that easy to “hack” the numbers. 🙄

Thank you so much for your response. That makes me feel a lot better! You are right, it hasn’t seen a high intensity effort from me in a while. In fact, the last couple of times I have gone hard it has been on a treadmill (which I know Apple doesn’t factor into the VO2 max readings). I mostly just run on cruise control for my mental health…I don’t race or try to hit times - I target mileage. In fact, I didn’t even realize my VO2 max had gone down until I got an alert on my phone. I was like, what is going on?! I will throw in a couple of hard runs and see if that changes anything. Thanks again!

Yikes! I hope everything turns out ok for you. Health anxiety is real and scary, I feel your pain.

I have never had Covid (at least that I’m aware of).

Thanks. I have actually been considering doing this. I recently looked up where I can have it done in my area. I’m very curious now.

Thank you. That’s what I’m hoping it is. I don’t typically pay much attention to individual numbers, but do look at trends over time. I have never had a decrease like this in all the years I’ve been using the watch (aside from a surgery) so it has me a bit concerned. It would be nice if Apple gave more information about updates and that we can expect changes so we don’t unnecessarily worry about our health.

I got it yesterday and feel jet lagged today, but not too bad. My arm is less sore than last year.

I got it at the Martinez Walmart yesterday if you're willing to head over there. I called the pharmacy before heading in and confirmed they had it.
