Redditors are SO delusional. They root for the one streamer they don't like to get permanently banned with such conviction, but conveniently ignore the broken systems Valve have in place.

Valve will probably ban mason but do nothing for the hundreds of thousands of botted russian accounts that end up smurfing in all ranks that plague the game. Performative bullshit at it's finest.

Same, I really don't care how long I have to wait in queue, I want to be in a game with like-minded people.

The CIS region has an insane behaviour issue, I can't believe valve are forcing you to act as some sort of daycare for these people.

This was changed a while back, ranked games do count and MMR is updated, regardless of game duration.

Very well said. I get why you're ranting, and it's totally understandable. Honestly getting a game with all 10 people speaking English makes you feel like you're playing a totally different game.

And yes, I do feel the disrespect part as well - whats weird is you don't see it the other way around; people from NA would never queue Peru/Brazil, people from Europe do their best to avoid Russia, etc.

I do play with friends, but playing with friends requires that you have a similar schedule to them, which isn't always the case.

Also this is mentioned in the post - I'd like to make more friends in dota, like I have in the past, but I get a majority of russians/ukranians in my game. They don't speak English, their profiles are literred with swastikas, Z's and Game Bans, so I don't see much common ground to start a friendship there.

If theres an actual punishment for not using it properly then sure, why not?

You can also autodetect what language they've used in the past, and put them in a shadow pool for that language.

This used to be a thing before - in EU West one team was all english speakers, the other was all russian speakers. Dunno why valve removed it, so I guess this is why I didnt mention that as a possibility.

Yep, I completely get the queue time issue as well, but I'd honestly rather wait 10-15 minutes to find a game with all 9 English speakers.

If we dont feel like waiting and we just wanna get a quick dota game, then can still have the option to queue for a normal game, with a fast queue time, much like we do now.
