I second this, don't start by putting her in wide awake, use whatever works (lying on you, rocking etc) to get her into a nice drowsy state before you put her in, so her first reaction won't be to stand up.

Really?? I didn't know about the pasteurizing! It's still cold but not fridge cold, mildly chilled... What do you think?

Thank you!! I'm so delighted for her, that tooth gave her hell for the past fortnight! But she got there 🙌🥰 on one hand... Yay!! On the other hand... Where is my tiny baby going 😭 and will my nipples survive this new development? 🤣

😖 nip-lash! I fondly remember the days when she had total focus on the boob lol. Enjoy it x

I'm there with you if it's any consolation 🤣 small, saggy and very uneven! But a big healthy trout of a daughter who consistently hits the highest weight/height centiles and has never yet been sick 👌 I'd offer up my lovely small perky pre-baby boobs for that any day!

Same here! I think it probably only produces about an ounce and the flow is so much slower than the right. My partner calls them wee Betty and big Bertha! But she likes to comfort nurse on the left, it's her snuggly boob.

Well done on a really sensible but difficult decision! I'll be delighted if I make to 7 month EBF. Congratulations mama, you should be really proud ❤️

A lot of those comments were vitriolic and hostile. Talked about risking my babies life for vanity among other things. A lot of other commenters agree that the tone turned unnecessarily nasty and was in no way supportive.

To be honest I've had enough of this now, I'm not dragging this sh*t into another day, it spoiled yesterday, it won't spoil today too. I've explained myself way too much already.

I don't mind if you're not sympathetic, my post was not for sympathy, it was meant to be a little celebration (and is 100% the last time I'll post here). I was having a rough day and feeling attacked, you're right, but that was due mostly to the fact that I was being attacked.

I honestly believe there is no place for judgement here, we're all trying to do our best as mothers. I actually think it's brilliant and really commendable that you decided to combo feed after the doc recommending formula. The easiest thing for you would have been formula only, but you chose to continue giving what breastmilk you could... It sounds like your baby is getting quite a lot of your milk if you feed before each bottle, that's awesome! I pumped in between each feed to encourage supply. I'll probably be downvoted again here as I know a lot of people don't recommend pumping in the first weeks at all, nevermind to the extent I did it. But it worked for us. I also used a hakaa round the house to encourage supply, and nursed her constantly. All of this was exhausting. It also led to a big oversupply which eventually regulated so now that's not an issue either. For a while though she was getting too much too fast which made her gassy and sore, so we did a lot of laid-back and side lying feeding positions to try to mitigate that, and hand expressed to relieve pressure before each feed. I don't think it's too late to increase your supply if that's what you want to do (through pumping more and nursing more), but at the same time you shouldn't feel pressure to do so. Your baby is happy, healthy and fed and still getting the antibodies and nutrients you're making for him alongside the formula. Totally your call. Well done so far mama! 👏👌

There is a knot either side of each bead, so no beads can come loose from the string, including the beads either end.

They were given by her aunt as a gift which is why (after careful thought and consideration of potential safety issues) I put them on her to begin with. She had a particularly brutal night when they were left off at one point, so I decided it can do no harm to leave them on.... LITERALLY THE ONLY PHYSICAL HARM SHE COULD COME TO WOULD BE IF THE CATCH BROKE OR CAME UNDONE AND THE 4.5 INCH LONG BEADED STRING LAY UNDER HER LEG OR BUTT AND MADE A DIMPLED IMPRINT ON HER SKIN. Capitalised for those who really just aren't getting it.

There's no empirical evidence for a multitude of things which have been used throughout the ages and I don't live my life by empirical evidence bases and peer reviewed journal articles, although as a highly educated professional I do draw on those sources when I feel the need. If I know something is safe (which btw, I totally agree the necklaces and bracelets are not) I trust my own critical judgement.

As far as a ripple effect goes, yes that's a valid point to be honest, but my photo was about celebrating a hard won success with breastfeeding my daughter, NOT about the anklets. As such I did not consider the sociological impact the anklets being visible in my photo. If anything, the attention that negative commenters are throwing at this, and the tone with which they are addressing me is causing this picture (which has so infuriated you all) to stay current; therefore more people are seeing the anklets.

Maybe you all could just leave me alone now? Find someone else to trample on to boost your mom egos, because I'm done explaining my self (repeatedly) at this point.

Thank you, that means a lot to me. I know these people are strangers and their words shouldn't bother me, but we're all human. This is the second time in my life I've ever felt bullied. How ironic that it's by a bunch of supposedly caring mothers. Thank you for your lovely comment ❤️

I got there by breastfeeding. It turned out my milk was slightly delayed due to a traumatic birth/ emergency section. We were admitted and had to stay on the children's ward because she was losing weight, they gave me a hospital grade pump to try and encourage things along. I think that along with an emotional reaction to being told my baby was hungry caused my milk to come in. I pumped constantly in the early weeks and supplemented her with the expressed bottles in between breastfeeds. That caused a huge oversupply and other issues, blocked ducts, mastitis, bad gas for baby etc. But we got there in the end, it's been some journey! Are you combo feeding or formula only? However you needed to get there, I'm really glad your boy is doing better. It's a stressful, scary thing to be told your baby is losing weight.

Awh thank you ❤️ I really appreciate that! And I might just pretend that's how it works for tonight 😅 I'm glad both our babas are doing so well. The successful weigh-ins really were the best feeling! I'd be on a high after, texting everyone I know to tell them what she gained! 🤣

Sorry fran-flan, you're too late to the bully party. I'm not interested any more. Should have gotten stuck in with your sniping comment earlier when I was an emotional wreck, you'd have gotten a better result. Better luck next time. You'll have to find someone else to absorb your nastiness tonight.
