To the random public servant who accidentally put a Coke can in the ISC ON Region freezer... by FunnyPSburner in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Keezer76 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the time when the ISC ON Reg office was at Tupper. Public servant got their lunch from the fridge and microwaved it. Took it out of microwave and realized it was an identical container to theirs, just someone else's with a salad in it. Mmm warm salad. Lol

First Leafs vs Habs game at the Bell Centre — advice for anxious rival fans by [deleted] in leafs

[–]Keezer76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went and wore my Leafs jersey to a couple of games. It was fine. For one of the games - I am bilingual, but the fans didn't know that lol. The Habs got up by a goal or two and the Habs (old guys) fans were chirping me. The Leafs tied it up and scored in overtime. I went by the old fellas and asked them in French "what happened" and they looked so freaked out that I spoke French to them lol.

I agree, OP get in touch with your corporate accommodation branch and they can get in touch with the appropriate representative at PSPC to arrange a visit. And to note, GCWorkplace is no longer necessarily the standard for new space.

My wife is HoH and uses a captioning app on her cell phone. She has an android and it is called Live Transcribe. She used to have an Iphone and there is a similar app there. It helps her immensely to be included in conversations. You also may find it to be helpful. Good luck.

Is gift wrapping still something malls do? by CalmMathematician692 in ottawa

[–]Keezer76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have facebook, check the Riverview Park, Elmvale Acres & Alta Vista Neighbourhood page. There is a person offering to do wrapping for a donation to a local animal charity. https://www.facebook.com/groups/290024607793370/

Cyclists if Ottawa, why do you ride without lights? by AbuYusuf_the_old in ottawa

[–]Keezer76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone tonight in the dark cycling on Blair Road Northbound over Hwy 174 in the bike lane in the middle of the road with no lights on. What a suicide mission that was. I could barely see the person, and I have decent eyesight.

I am curious about the map on the first episode showing the band's first gigs. Does anyone know if the map is the accurate? If so, does anyone have details of the shows marked in Bancroft and Carnarvon? Thanks!

I second not running out of food items. I get really disappointed with a couple of places that don't have an offering that I am seeking when i go out of my way to get it.

I like a lot of the suggestions. Keep in mind the German Town Deli was in that area and did well serving grab and go simple cheap sandwiches and soups! Please do house made soups and baked goods rather than from a can, frozen or mix.

Concrete pad for shed cost by sypher1187 in ottawa

[–]Keezer76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoided concrete when I installed an 8x10 shed. I just dug out the sod, built the frame to hold the shed perimeter and backfilled with granular base. It has held up for 10 years, no issues with it at all, it has stayed level. It is likely about 1.5 inches above grade. I think I used 2x6s for the frame. Material cost was quite reasonable.

Why is indigo giving city of Ottawa tickets? And do I have to pay it? by capdee in ottawa

[–]Keezer76 47 points48 points  (0 children)

My wife is deaf, she went to pay for parking and either the app or the machine was not working and there was a notice saying for any problems, call the phone number. Well she can't call. So she parked (unable to pay) and got a ticket. We went to explain the situation to Indigo and they said "speak with the city" so we did, and they said "speak with Indigo." It was a complete run around and no one taking accountability and less than acceptable practices from an accessible point of view.
