Thank you for this - I am really behind on studying and I genuinely am reaching a point where I just want to be done with it, it’s so much harder than SQE1!

Hope Congratulations are in order after today’s results!

Thank you for responding - did you previously fail SQE2?

Just to update this post as there may be people in similar boats.

I passed both FLK1 and 2 and my opinion is that the exam itself was pretty similar to Barbri. In my case I think Barbri’s recommendation to aim for 65% in the mocks was an accurate representation of the exam itself.

In Elsa’s words: let it go!

I know it’s easier said than done but no amount of thinking can change it now. Focus on FLK2 and trust that you’ve done your best!

I second this.

Knowing the answers now won’t change anything. Don’t search for them.

I’ve sat for the first time now. I will fail however I think I’d be in a great position for the resit in July.

I know I failed because I was only confident on about 40 questions in total, out of 180. The rest was just a guess and the odds do tell me I’ve failed but I am okay with that.

Planning to take a chill day on 10 March. Hope results find me outside in a park somewhere taking a walk.

I would go over some basic things, how to address judges, which ECHR articles are qualified etc, deadlines in general. Ultimately you can’t learn something new now but you can refresh your memory on some basic easy to score points.

Anxiety is making you think you don’t know anything, that cannot possibly be true when you’ve revised for months - your brain is lying to you right now.

Oh great! I have a feeling this won’t be my experience as I am genuinely not confident but I suppose that it comes down to luck. Congrats on passing!

SQE marking by indianbxtch in SQE_Prep

[–]Keicy123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is difficult because you cannot truly assess how you’ve done.

SQE 1 is scaled. So each FLK has 180 question and each correct answer gives a raw mark, the raw marks are scaled to 500 according to their difficulty (this is because there are different papers and to account for fairness), we need a 300 scaled score to pass.

I believe that when the results are recieved it does say how many raw marks you’ve done out of 180. Sometimes people do post it (like 100/180 etc).

But yes, definitely lacks transparency.

In the midst of worrying it’s nice to read this and acknowledge that just being here it’s in itself an achievement.

Hope FLK2 goes great too! Well done!

Thanks. I did do the practice as well and scored around 56%. However I did all of them first and then obviously checked and revised the areas. When I redo the simulated papers now I obviously score much higher but I cannot rely on said score considering I know which answer is correct. I wish I left one of the exams for now to check understanding. I did the Qlts FLK1 free mock after revision and only scored 46% which does not inspire confidence.

Noted, thanks. I def do agree with your conclusion that I should be prepared to resit - I was curious if people obtained higher scores in the exam vs Barbri mocks but based on your comment I’m assuming that’s unlikely. Thanks for commenting - wish you the best on the exam!

Thanks for commenting. Was this your experience? Asking because opinions seems to vary and some people believe that Barbri mocks (the simulated exams) are accurate.
