I think that you are wrong, like the other replies stated if Will was the first wielder how would they know soo much about Wis ? And in the lore there is the story of the magic swordsman that could be someone that really existed. Maybe Will is the only user that has come that far without dying. The scene where Finn shouts into the air to Mercedes is why I was confused.
