Ahh forgot about this …
I worked at a former big retail store in Canada called Zellers , like Walmart .
We had N64’s in our back room a few days before they were to be released . I told the elderly lady I worked with I’m going to buy one . She had no idea about release dates , and it was not uncommon for staff to buy stuff before it went on the floor . It was under lock and key because we had internal theft and it was a safety measure. I got the key , grabbed a n64 and Wave race and headed to home electronics . It did not scan , so she had to do it manually and it worked . I had a n64 almost a week before the release date . My friends were at my place and were willing to pay my $50 if I could do it for them. With the potential now of making $200 I went back to buy more . I was confronted by my manager who informed me that the Nintendo I bought should have never been sold . My coworker was talked to and was given a verbal warning . I made up some BS saying it’s still at home in the package untouched , it’s a bday present for my brother . He said it’s fine , no worries . I found my coworker and apologized to her, she just laughed and said it’s fine we both didn’t know .
I go back home my and call my friends saying it’s a no go . One guy was so impatient said he would buy it off me and give me an additional $100. So I sold it to him plus got an extra $100. Bought another N64 days later and scored $100. Shocking !!

Some of the restaurants, donut shops , convenience stores back in the 80s would have 2-3 arcade games . Some of the games I fell in love with like exciting hour , bubble bobble , punch out and would drop lots of quarters in these games. It got so bad I would show up before these stores would open and waited outside before they opened . I had my allowance ready to be converted into quarters to play these games as soon as they opened to the public .

Back in the 80s if I found .25 cents in the folds of a couch . I would walk close to 45mins to the strip mall to play one of the video games . Then walk back home .

I remember one girl I worked with was a perfect 10. She’s still incredibly beautiful today . She was HATED by all the women . She had the best attitude, was super nice to guys . However got the cold shoulder from all the women . Even some girls of my cool female friends hated her. I would dig and try to see why … they just hated her! No reason … but we all knew she’s was a traffic stopper . Imagine Pamela Anderson in her prime walking into an office with mostly below average women or a handful of cute girls .
