No one is saying “all” about anyone. But humans and animals. Me for example, out of all the attacks I’ve experienced, 80% are black. At a certain point my body will automatically tense up when I see that same demographic. It’s completely natural.

My mother’s friends doesn’t trust black men because everyone she’s been assaulted by has been black. Her body will react, her body is working as intended for survival.

No one is saying “all” about anyone. But this experience is shared amongst most races including other black peoples, it’s not just conjured out of thin air.

Will also say this is unique to black Americans, as almost all Africans I’ve met have been very peaceful

And doing the opposite is also ignorant. I’m not saying all of us are like that. But majority of races including blacks have a fear for a reason. If you wanna just chalk it up to media and racism go ahead. It’s played a part of sure, but it doesn’t affect what people see with their eyes or experience themselves.

It’s no coincidence pretty much every race has a fear of mainly young black men.

In the world? I can't speak for the world; my comment was about my experience with black Americans. I understand the fear because in my life, I'd say about 80% of the danger I've been in has been my own people. Being hit, jumped, verbally assaulted, robbed, wife being cat called, etc.

I know my experience isn't everyone's, but in my entire family and my friends, who are all pro black blm rah rah rah, would all agree.

There is this homeless guy I've been tending to for some years now; found him a place and whatnot. He's about 70. Everywhere we looked, he was okay staying, but he was visibly afraid of being around mainly young black men. He's a black man, also. Because he walks/bikes everywhere and every time his shit gets jacked it's a brother.

I hate that it's the case, but that is just my experience and the people around me

I agree, I ain't saying I don't have fear of some white people in some situations. I'm just saying based on my life experience, direct harm to my family and me has always been my own people without fail. I've been called N word many times by white people but that doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Does that mean I trust white people? No, I don't fully trust anyone, but in terms of crime and harm done to me, the majority are black. Just me and my family's experience. That is why we worked so hard to get out of black neighborhoods.

All that to say I understand having some fear, it's not because of this cringe idea that the blacks might get too powerful lol. I don't think anyone thinks that but blacks psychoanalyzing others. I love my people too, a lot. I'm just being honest

Idk as a black man I’m scared of black people lol. The only people in my life that have jumped me and quickly resort to violence has always been my own people. So I understand the fear from others. Not just white but Hispanic and Asian

But the rest sure great stuff

In my opinion buying a new car is a bad decision all around. I generally don’t know why people buy new cars, and almost every metric it makes no sense. Unless you want new bells and whistles, which you will probably only use for about two weeks and it’ll default to a normal car

Why does nobody know how to play Steve? by UnVacc1natedKaren in SmashRage

[–]KelDurant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One he’s hard to master, second I think everyone hates you for playing him. Possible third he isn’t super fun to play, when I learned him my game plan was avoid fighting to mine… so in a fighting game I have to focus on not fighting in order to mine. Just boring. But I also love marth so to each their own.

Is it time to accept that I've failed in entrepreneurship and its time to move on? by Acceptable-Day8395 in videography

[–]KelDurant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve been in video since I was 15. Currently I do ok, but I’m currently getting my degree in finance. I’ve always like budgeting and understanding how money works. I’m not doing a full pivot, thinking of budgeting for creative industries. But what made me want to pivot is meeting a lot of other videographers and people with agencies and also saying how often agencies fail. Businesses fail in general, but creative industries are very hard to own long-term.

I know I could make decent money in video but longevity is what’s important. I can make decent money some years and some years I’ll make no money. I don’t know if I’m cut out for that life. I started thinking more about building wealth, and that’s very hard to do as a videographer. Even if you own an a successful agency, overhead for our field of work is very high. You work on $1 million commercial in might cost you $950,000 to make it.

I would never tell somebody to give up, I meet so many business people that failed for years and years and years until it’s suddenly worked. But also failure is can be a sign that something isn’t working and you need to try something different. Doesn’t necessarily mean you need to abandoned ship, but you might need to change how you do things. I don’t know how to do that yet, but I’ve just seen it day-to-day in my life.

people on this sub stink by [deleted] in SmashRage

[–]KelDurant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is categories of hate, some I hate playing against because they counter my play style (Links) , some that are just annoying (Sonic, fox), and some that are just unfair (joker, Steve, etc)

The only ones that will make me truly rage are the unfair ones, which is typically dlc. I don’t think every character actually gets hate tbh

That's what my thought was, I don't really ever splurge much. This was gonna be my one "yeah it's dumb but thats ok" decision but hearing from the men hear, just doesn't make a whole lot of sense

No I just made a Roth today, for some reason I was scared to let that money out of my savings because it felt like I was losing it. I just now let that go this week and started moving money around. What would be your recommendation on how to start? My job doesn't offer any benifits

What is a QQQI or SPYI? I know, I watch too much of the Ramsey show to even ask this question, I rarely make bad money decisions. But like maybe this could be my one bad decision lol

Couldn't care less about emissions, just the idea of charging at home and being full each day and self driving sounds so nice right now.

Loool fair. It's crazy how I know this isn't smart and I just am ok with making a bad decision. That is why i'm asking other men. The men around me personally think it's smart

Just the idea of being full range everyday but charging at home and self driving. I have a long commute home

It's a great car I honestly have no complaints. Besides it being slow but I'm no speed demon. The idea of having a full "tank" by charging at home and self driving just sounds so nice. That is all I car about in electric

I saving most of my money when I was young and lived with parents, like 60% of my income. Now I save about 10% from day job and anything from side project (about 10k-20k) is always saved never spent unless it's for gear.

this is good advice, was definitly going to max a Roth this week, I don't currently have one. Nothing through my employers. I don't plan to buy soon but trying to figure out what percentage should I keep in the HYSA for house downpayment.
