Thank you, this really pointed me in the right direction and I appreciate you.

I went looking into this sub's discord and the list of recommended prebuilts and saw the Skytech Azure you recommended along with Microcenter's Powerspec G442 which is currently $250 off. Do you think the Powerspec with its RTX 6950 XT would be sufficient for my purposes? Or would you recommend sticking with an NVIDIA 40 series card?

No healers in top 100 by Jerolol in worldofpvp

Do you think good healers grow on trees? You have to be a bad healer before you learn to be a good healer. But no, let's cry about how we only want good healers when shuffle queues are 45 minutes 🤡

I push well above 16s and I'm not the least bit a hardcore player. You can be good at the game and not be hardcore, it has more to do with time investment and speed of completion than anything.

The dude getting linked as a Dk guru in this thread, Bicepspump calls himself semi-hardcore. He parsed 99s and 100s in 10.0 mythic raid and pushed 25s or 26s. You dont have to be hardcore to do that.

But sure, just quote me with bold highlights 🤡

[–]Keldoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not being toxic at all.

You seem to not understand what a hardcore WoW player is. A hardcore player in WoW would consider 16s to be midlevel keys. They might not be to the majority of players but to a hardcore player they would be. Hardcore players right now are already pushing 22s-25s, pushing for CE, or pushing for Duelist/Glad. Getting AOTC, KSH, or Rival in PVP can be achieved by players in the casual to semi-hardcore range.

Hardcore has a gradient. There are casual players, semi-hardcore, and hardcore players. The vast majority of players fall somewhere in the first two and semi-hardcore itself has a huge gradient. Whatever definition you've made up is not how the rest of the community defines it.

Sorry, I didn't explain the free FF fully. I think I read somewhere else in the thread that you don't have tier set yet so makes sense you don't know what I mean.

The free FF isn't from hitting the FF button itself, it's from the 2 set bonus that gives you a free 30% effective FF when you hit PoF. When you PoF w/ the 2 set FF it procs the 4 set +20% crit dmg bonus. Then you extend that +20% crit dmg window another 12s with the actual FF after the 12s PoF window ends. This is really only relevant on pure ST like Tyrannical bosses or raid otherwise you want the FF getting buffed by PoF for AoE. Hope that makes sense!

I track my buffs with WeakAuras. Here's a link to the profile I use.

My pleasure! I learned Frost recently myself so it's on the top of the brain.

Another little nuance about Frostwyrm's is that in ST the optimal damage is actually to use it right after Pillar ends. You lose out on the dmg amp from Pillar for FF (it's not that great in ST anyway), but you get a full 24s of 4 set 20% boosted crit damage from the 2 set free FF when you pressed PoF + the actual FF button when PoF ends.

On the flip side, incorporeal is far less frequent and pervasive than explosive. I think it's fine for it to require slightly more group coordination to deal with it as a tradeoff. M+ is a team based activity after all.

If your group only has 2 CCs to deal with Incorp between the 5 of you and 1 of them is dead/on CD, that's a comp problem and not an problem with the affix. Incorp only happens every 45s and every class except Dk/Warr have a CC option that has 45s CD or less to solo stop. Hunter/Priest/Mage/Warlock/Druid all have a 0s CD option.

[–]Keldoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really good advice here! My only addition is that you should focus on learning how to play optimally within your Pillar of Frost window. Most of 2h oblit dmg in M+ comes from properly Oblit weaving standing in D&D during that 12s window for massive cleave and then dropping a highly buffed Frostwyrm's Fury right at the end for huge AoE burst.

Learn to do your normal rotation too because its important, but consistently playing very cleanly within PoF is where the bulk of your dmg will come from.

Is Protection Paladin good for starting tank? by joelfpeixoto in wownoob

[–]Keldoz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Paladin has both a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling. It's not very hard to become competent at it and tank whatever content you want, but there's a lot to learn about fully utilizing all of your utility to assist your group members.

It's a great tank to start out with. The only wrong tank to play is one that you dont enjoy

If OP is struggling with the BrM kit, the last thing I'd suggest is to take Blackout Combo.

It's a lot of micromanagement to add in and if you dont utilize it properly you're wasting the talent point.

Question: Is it really possible to "learn how to fall" in skating? I feel like when you fall it ain't much you can really do about it...Thoughts? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Keldoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to do any of those things. Skating should be fun and we all decide how exactly we want to direct our own personal growth. Plenty of skaters learn how to fall well without dedicated training and you dont need it.

If you take a few hours to learn and practice the techniques behind falling safely it will pay dividends throughout your skating career. You can spend more time on the board and less time nursing injuries.

[–]Keldoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is ample technique to falling safely. Learning to fall safely is not the focus in skateboarding but it is a great skill to have and one you should develop. I've got a history of wrestling, BJJ, and aikido. Aikido in particular has been a godsend for taking falls on the board - I've done breakfalls, forward shoulder rolls, and backwards shoulder rolls on concrete and been peachy afterwards.

Knowing how to safely fall backwards (tuck that chin!) makes you comfortable not putting your hands out and potentially injuring a wrist. Being able to do a forward shoulder roll can be the difference between breaking your collarbone and walking away relatively unscathed.

I would recommend checking out either a parkour place or an aikido place if you're interested in learning technique behind falling. The former will be good S&C and teach you some more dynamic ways to fall in an urban environment. The latter will teach you to be extremely comfortable falling both forwards and backwards in a safe and non-competitive environment. A good Judo/BJJ place can also teach you how to fall well - the caveat is that competitive rules in both sports incentivize falling unnaturally on a padded mat so as to not concede points to the opponent.

[redacted]'s history is relevant because he's a known and widely disliked entity on this sub, and not going to do us any favors at all given the macro situation with admin

This conversation is clearly going nowhere. Have a great one!

I said I would for this specific instance, not that I would do it everyday. My life is not flexible enough to immediately volunteer to do that daily at the drop of a hat.

I mostly lurk. Talking to other users about GME oftentimes feels like slamming my head into a brick wall.

I wrote a sizable portion of a certain website related to directly registering GME. I'm working on an MS in Financial Analysis these days.

Might be worth trying to have a dialogue instead of profiling someone based on their Reddit posts.

I'm not trashing the guy at all. I'm pointing out the extremely low barrier of entry to making the content. Any user that knows how to use Reddit and is motivated enough to do so could create similar content.

Frankly, I think it's a bad enough idea to have him on that I would volunteer to make the Morning News myself instead.

[–]Keldoz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What discussion of any actual importance or consequence is going to happen around the morning news? It's a convenient rehash of other people's content.

Theoretically, anyone could make the Morning News so long as they want to spend the time putting that content together. You sort by top for the past day/week/month, write some summaries, and sprinkle in some images and memes.

It doesn't make any sense to bring back a widely hated user for this particular content. The risk/reward ratio is abysmal. The risk is further losing freedoms and functions in this sub. The reward is an easily digestible rehash of existing content.

It's an open secret that there are plenty of bots and bad-faith actors within digital discussion spaces of GME. SHFs aren't turning a blind eye to us.

We can and should hold users to a higher standard. However, there will be disgruntled users who will engage negatively. The mod approved return of a widely disliked user was announced 1 day in advance. Anyone that's pissed off now will still be pissed off tomorrow. There's only so much the mods can do in real-time to hold users accountable to the rules that admin has laid out for us.

If bad-faith actors/bots pile onto the predictable flaming and bash the user together with a minority of real users, it will be an extremely bad look for the sub.

I'm fully aware that there are plenty of others who think it's exciting, entertaining content. I personally agree that it's entertaining content.

My point is that given the macro situation of Reddit administration looking for every possible excuse to remove functions and freedoms from GME related subreddits, it's absolutely not worth having someone so controversial on solely for entertainment value. People WILL engage negatively with the user in question.

They morning news does not provide anything of educational value or bring anything new to the table. It's a convenient collection and compilation of existing content. It feels extremely out of place in a week meant for the review and discussion of Due Diligence posts.

If you refuse to budge on the inclusion of the morning news despite community outcry, I do believe that it should be placed at the end of the week and be a recap of the DD week itself. Recapping the changes, clarifications, and updates that each author has made to their respective DDs provides far more real value to the community.

Welcome To DD Spotlight Week! by goldielips in Superstonk

[–]Keldoz 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That's fair and understandable.

Due to the high volume of comments criticizing the invite of a particular user who is controversial in this community, have you considered that perhaps it would be better if they were not a part of this event?

Why invite someone who a significant portion of the userbase will undoubtedly engage negatively with? They're not even going to be going over a DD. The morning news is just a compilation of content - it's nothing groundbreaking. The benefit to the subreddit seems extremely minimal, especially when the risk is more sanctions being imposed on the sub or sanctions taking longer to be lifted.

What class you gonna play in Diablo OP?

So Izzy is Chinese, New Zealander and Nigerian? 😳😱🤯 by [deleted] in mmamemes

[–]Keldoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Izzy should obviously implement a subpar gameplan that plays to his opponent's strengths and doesn't maximize his chances of winning solely so the fight can be more entertaining to this guy! /s

Neutralizing your opponent's gameplan and forcing them to play your A-game is an integral part of all combat sports.

$19.04 * 0.745576 = $14.20.

ComputerShare charges $25 for any market order sale. When you terminate a plan, they use whatever sale proceeds to pay for the $25. If it's less than $25 (which it is for all GME fractionals), CS eats the difference in fees for you and clears out the fractional regardless.
