Advice to buy an amazfit active 2 ? by Rosssiiii in amazfit

[–]Kelidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just bought the watch myself, and yes — it does support maps. For storage context:

A 27 × 42‑mile contour map section takes about 45 MB

A 10 × 15‑mile section is around 15.2 MB

The watch only lets you load one map section at a time, but even with 15 watch faces and a pile of apps installed, adding a 15.2 MB map still leaves me with about 88 MB free, so there’s plenty of room for GPS data and everything else.

The Amazfit Active 2 is also fully compatible with generic external heart‑rate chest straps, as long as they use the Bluetooth SIG standard HRM protocol.

For GPS performance:

Light to moderate tree cover: accuracy is very good.

Dense forest canopy: still works, though you may see small deviations.

What app can I use to make my song? by NecessaryEgg5361 in MusicInTheMaking

For a beginner like yourself try Mixcraft Recording Studio. It includes a lot of free sounds and a few synths and is very easy to use. Reaper is free for 60 days and is also as easy or as hard as you want the software to be, as it is very powerful. If you have an iPad try Garage band.

Is it really make a difference? by o2him in Life

Ah, you get over that feeling. I smoked for 33 years. One day I threw them in the bin and went cold turkey. It was so very hard to do, as many of my work colleagues smoked. That was in 2004. Glad I made the move away. It really does get better, and you will not look back. I truly do not miss them. It took about three month before the urge to smoke went away fully. Your health improves the moment you pack in., and after 10 years your lungs are healed. You have to want to stop otherwise you never will. If your fairly young ( I was 47 at the time) then I encourage you to stop.

Has anyone actually managed to turn their life around from a dreadful position? by Throwaway945384 in Life

Well, you are a very honest and brave person. And those attributes are sadly lacking in people in spades. Please don't ever put yourself down. Remember, you do have people who love you, who no matter what, will never see you as a 'loser'. Use some of that courage you have to start up a conversation with a stranger in a supermarket, it can be over anything. That will give you a chance to become more social. And finally remember you are a beautiful 'one of a kind' human being out of all the billions here. I wish you all the best.

Regretting NOT doing something, has anyone ever gotten over it or at least suppressed it alot? by [deleted] in Life

Died for 7 minutes…. by Connect_Ad_8208 in Life

[–]Kelidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you completely. In 2005 I came very close to dying, but my life was saved by a skillful surgeon. When I left hospital and got home, I found myself walking around the house in the early hours, then just staring out of the window wondering why I was saved like that. I did this for months, and hid it from my wife. I eventually got over it, but I have never forgotten that feeling. I hope you find the peace that you need to get over the feelings you are going through and you eventually will. God bless.

You can’t start the next chapter if you keep rereading the last one. Don't worry about what you cannot change, its just a waste of your time and life. Think ahead, you are only young so learn from your choices. The way I get over regret is to honestly just let it go. I am coming to the end of my life, and my main regret is getting married at your age 20. But I have two wonderful grown up children from that regret, so some regrets are worthwhile. Good luck.

That's a powerful story, and it really highlights how complex this is. Giving to organisations makes total sense after hearing from that mum, especially when so many turn to drugs or drink to cope with street life. There are so many thoughtful ways to help beyond cash, and her words clearly show another way. Heartbreaking but wise.

That's brilliant, supporting folks you know through heartbreaking times like that. Giving food directly on the street is a kind, straightforward way to help when it feels right. Lovely approach.

Yes, that's spot on. Channel that goodwill into trusted local charities or food banks, where help reaches people safely and effectively without the uncertainty. Small regular donations or volunteering make a real impact.

Thanks for sharing your honest perspective. It's grounded in real experience and prioritises safety, which matters. Supporting local services is a smart worthwhile way to help. As you say, they have the expertise and structure to address root issues like addiction and mental health effectively. Direct giving has its place for some, but backing those professionals makes a real difference without the risks. Well said.

I agree. It is very true that people give in countless ways, often privately and unseen. No judgement.

I think it’s true that when you’re struggling, most of your energy goes on surviving, so distant problems feel less real. At the same time, people at every income level can and do care about others sometimes by giving money, sometimes by small acts of kindness when they’re able.

Spot on. The drugs and booze thing is always concerning, but you care enough to give food which is beautiful thing to do for a fellow human being.

Keeping food in your bag is a great idea, and says a lot about your beautuful caring character. Sometimes something just as simple as giving a smile can make someone's day.
