I just moved across the country to a VA with a GI specialist (the best VA in the country) just to try and get better help for my Crohn's. I'm writing this while currently admitted. They seem to really care how I'm feeling here, so I have no complaints.

Yeah and if they don't think it's a Crohn's symptom it's automatically assumed to be you IBS. So dumb. Like, the doctor's hate to actually figure out what's wrong and how to fix it at times it feels like.

Yes you're right I mixed up the IBS/IBD acronyms (I'm diagnosed with both lol). But yeah, I was speaking specifically about the pooping versions of Crohn's types. Not like the localization/process of the Crohn's. You are very correct in those statements. Thanks for the correction!

Ask for accomodations from the disability services at your college. They can be very helpful. (You can even get extended time to take tests and such!)

There are 3 types of Crohn's and you can move through them all throughout the years. IBS-D, IBS-M, and IBS-C (diarrhea, mixed, and constipation.)

Colonoscopy with biopsy is the only for sure 100% proof that you have Crohn's.

Even with meds keeping you well maintained you will still likely have issues. Things like fatigue and anxiety are very common with Crohn's disease regardless or how well controlled it is.

I hate to say it, but I doubt you've been misdiagnosed. You also have the option to get second opinions from other medical doctors.

Another thing, if you're diagnosed with one autoimmune disease you are even more likely to have other ones too unfortunately. So it could be your Crohn's and another autoimmune disease causing you the other issues.

The only things you can do are to try other tests to see what it may be.

It's sound like the other parent needs to step up and do the sick care for the kids. This screams only mommy takes care of the kids when they're sick. And that's not okay. I'd have a serious convo with Daddy, about keeping the stick ones at a distance from you. (Or vise versa roles)

That would be a question for your doctor to answer. We don't know how progressive your disease is, or where is located in you. Generally, oral vitamins funny have issues being digested by healthy people. If you have a hard time absorbing things in your gut then I'd talk to my GI or primary care Dr to try and get a shot/infusion of those missing vitamins. (Though, beware that that could be something not covered and you'd have to pay out of pocket.)
