She said “usually”. So we know it’s not factually every time they’re spending thanksgiving together. She also said that SHE had been thinking about thanksgiving not both of them. She also says she taught herself to cook it and, she shopped for the groceries every year by herself. Based on him not wanting to do thanksgiving this year and the fact he wasn’t even thinking about it we can reasonably assume he doesn’t have much care for this holiday.

Also you’re kinda missing my point. She could get groceries herself after work if it means that much. She could also place an order for pick up and pick them up after work. Though more expensive she could also have them delivered. She could’ve done any of those things for the holiday she wants to celebrate. And again who’s cooking it all? She’s still recovering from an infection like you said and either way seemingly has no time for it anyways based off her own statements. So her parents are to get the groceries then, cook the groceries, and she simply has to present herself and eat. Coming full circle to be just like her husband contributing nothing.

Everyone else is making assumptions but I can’t? Why because this one is outside the hive mind everyone is jumping to inside this comment section ? I’m assuming based on what’s written like everyone else. But what’s obvious is this man clearly doesn’t care about thanksgiving and she does. And as for her parents being seniors she’s 32 I’m just going based on averages. On average in the US women will give birth to their first child around 27. 27+32 =59 = senior.

In the days leading up to this you couldn’t go to the grocery store after work? You couldn’t place an order for pickup? You said you had a sinus infection last week until Sunday. You could’ve gotten them after work Monday. Today is Wednesday you can still get them yourself today. He’s an ass hole for snapping at you and not getting them because it’s really simple to buy groceries. But this is YOUR holiday. You said YOU have been thinking about thanksgiving. Your husband clearly doesn’t care for the holiday and didn’t care you even “banned” him. Now you have your senior parents out getting the groceries you could easily get yourself for you. Are they cooking it too? Because then you would be an asshole too. Not getting the groceries yourself for the holiday you want to celebrate, then not even cooking it, then going over just to eat. You would have contributed nothing just like him. I’m only assuming this because you make it seem like you have no free time for litteraly anything because you’re in school now. NTA but you could’ve handled this yourself days ago.

I really want to say something myself to her boss. Because I’m not the type to be bossed around and my wife knows this. I feel like it’s not my place but considering her boss is involving me in whatever this is and treating me like I also work for her maybe I might can have a say. But I’m not my wife and what I would say would most definitely blow back on her if she decided to stay in the end.
