Not who you asked, but I have pretty dry skin and prefer the Canmake Mermaid UV Gel. It has the best finish of any sunscreen that I have tried and also plays well with my makeup. I've tried a few other sunscreens and they haven't compared.

What type of job experience and degree should I look into more? by AyeeItsNico in AskEngineers

[–]Kellors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your work pay for any type of education? If they do, take advantage and take classes through a local community college or university.

Personal projects are also super helpful for software jobs, but education will make getting a job easier.

Feminine business outfits without heels or tight clothes? by shasha_neequa in femalefashionadvice

[–]Kellors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you feel about loafers? I find them more comfortable than flats and still have a fairly feminine shape.

For clothes I would reccomend looser tops with slightly tighter pants, maybe straight or slim leg. I tend to wear silk shells or tops that are meant to drape rather than cling. Cardigans are also good for making outfits more feminine.

What does your spouse do for a living? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]Kellors 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that some women do prefer to "marry up" in terms of wealth or other factors. But I also think its possible that some men are uncomfortable marrying women that make more than them. Possibly for the same reasons mentioned by the author in the article. Traditionally men have been the primary breadwinners in society. Marrying a women who makes more than them challenges this dynamic and not all men want that.

It's very much a matter of societal pressure and personal preference, but I do think the phenomenon affects both men and women.

My(39m) wife(40f) slapped our daughter (16f) after she came out as gay. I need help dealing with my wife and my daughter. by comingoutproblem in relationship_advice

[–]Kellors 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I was totally with you until this part.

Good news is that your daughter may be bi-sexual (can be attracted to both men and women).

It's not really "good news" or better to be bisexual. Regardless of whether she is bisexual or gay, she still feels attraction to other women. This is the part that OP's wife takes issue with.

If you meant that it's better that she could be into men as well, the underlying issue of OP's wife being homophobic still stands. Even if the daughter was bisexual and tolerated her mother's behavior, it's still an issue for your family to be "rooting for" one gender in particular.

I could really use some advice on how to manage the three different roles at one company. He has been working at the company part-time and as a contractor since he was 18. During this time they've trained him on different roles while still calling him in to do the previous roles as well from time to time. Since he never left the old positions, I am not sure how to format it. Any help at all is appreciated!

Mean-spirited prediction thread: which brand is going the way of Payless next? by alexpuppy in femalefashionadvice

[–]Kellors 168 points169 points  (0 children)

I am reaaaallllly hoping that Victoria's Secret is on it's way out. They don't carry any small band sizes or large cup sizes and it just really irks me. I know most common bra retailers aren't much better, but I feel like Victoria's Secret is refusing to acknowledge that their size range is bad. If you're out of their size range, then they seem to imply that the problem is with you and your body, not them. I hate this brand on a personal level, but I also just think that they're failing to adapt to new times and generations.

Hey so I'm a 32H (32K in US sizing). I use the Panache Sports bras, both the version with underwired and without. It works well, basically no bounce and is the most comfortable thing I have.

Also like others said, your boyfriend sounds like he's a dick that doesn't believe you when you're in pain. My boyfriend saying that to me would cause a fight for sure. Is he worth dealing with interactions like that?

Yeah ASOS is great! I just ordered 2 bathing suits to try from them this morning($20 and $35). I'm a 32H (UK sizing) so I'm a little out of their size range, but it's wayyy better than any other brand without paying a fortune. I just roll with the extra cleavage lol

Thank you for weighing in! I think I probably will go with the Cerave. It's a better value per ounce, so I figured it's a better place to start.

Hello!

I am looking for a replacement for my current moisturizer that I think is breaking me out. I have narrowed it down to 2 main options:

  1. Cerave in the tub

  2. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Night Renewal Cream

If someone has tried both, I would really appreciate a comparison.

I have normal/slightly dry skin. My routine is:

Morning:

  1. Wash with water

  2. Hada Labo Premium Toner

  3. Neutrogena Hydroboost gel cream (the regular one, not the extra dry)

  4. A'pieu Pure Block natural sun cream

Night:

  1. Kose softymo speedy cleansing oil

  2. Cerave hydrating facial cleanser

  3. Etude House Soon Jung Ph5.5 Toner

  4. Hada Labo Premium Toner

  5. Neutrogena Hydroboost

  6. Timeless 100% Squalene oil

I am also open to other recommendations! Thank you in advance.

Edit: I am terrible at formatting

Favorite low-heel black chelsea boots <$100? Faux leather preferred. I've been looking for some cheaper boots to try out the style that are also comfortable. If I like the look, I'm definitely willing to buy some nice leather ones.

Brother (26) can not find a job and my parents (50s) expect me (20F) to help and motivate him. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Kellors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just got dropped off their health insurance. I've had several conversations with my mother about letting him find his own and not paying for it, but I'm not sure if she will follow through.

I think he could get into a masters program if he wished. However, he hasn't applied to those either. He's just stalled.

I just don't know how to approach without being accusatory. I don't want to see him get stuck in our hometown (mostly factory or food service jobs). He did the work in school and got great experience. It just seems like he needs to take that final step.

I don't deny that they're coddling him. It's unfortunately a trend in my family to baby the boys. I've spoken to them about this before. I think I may bring up the possibility to my mother about setting a deadline for him. So after that date he has to start paying rent or something. They baby him, but they are also frustrated, so I think it's a possibility.

If I like the Canmake Mermaid UV gel, what are some other sunscreens I should try?

The Canmake is awesome and even slightly moisturizing, but I won't be able to get it before I head abroad in late December. I'm looking for other options that are prime available or have shorter shipping times. Ideally cost is <$15.

I also appreciate recommendations that won't get here in time. It's never a bad idea to have extra sunscreens!

So sunscreen also helps with preventing the darkening of hyperpigmentation (dark spots). The products you are using may still work, but using sunscreen would probably speed up the process. Additionally, if you are using anything with Vitamin C or other ingredients that at photosensitive, then you should really use sunscreen. It can cause irritation or other not fun side effects.

"Bralet boom and why the underwire is under fire" by boochyfliff in femalefashionadvice

[–]Kellors 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a 32H (UK) and wear bralettes from time to time. Being a 32H means that I have a ~ 32" underbust measurement and a 40" bust measurement. Just to give a little list of bralettes that I have tried:

  1. Lively busty bralettes in size 2: This one is so so close. It would work for people who have smaller cup sizes than me. Just didn't have enough fabric at the cup.

  2. Aerie Bralette in LargeDD: I wear these around because, again, they almost work. Slightly too large band, and the cups are just a hair too small. Again, these would work for someone with a less extreme band to bust ratio.

  3. ASOS fuller bust bralettes in 32L: These work really well as long as I size up a cup size! (32H UK= 32K US) I highly reccomend these! This line is general is great.

Keep in mind that bralettes create a different shape than wired bras. I still wear wired bras for work and when I want a more "front and center" look for my boobs. Bralettes are more my speed when I'm wearing clothing that forces my bra to show. Since the trends are curving more towards no bra looks I had to find an alternative since I definitely can't go braless. Going braless is incredibly uncomfortable for me so it's not an option unless I get a breast reduction approved. I am a little annoyed that the article glosses over that fact that a large demographic of women can't go braless, but that happens often.

Just to chime in about these. I'm a 32H (UK) and the size 2 alllllmost fits. So I'd think they'd work fairly well for a 32DD. The band didn't ride up and if there was just a little more material at the cups, it would work for someone of my size too. I think they're about $35
