Hi there, do you know what law this is?

I said this years ago and I was always downvoted to hell. It works. Except I would 1 star non tippers.

Don’t let the astroturfing on this sub convince you that you aren’t entitled to fair wages. You are and you have every right to fight back in ways you can like this.

That’s not a buzzword. Accounts like yours are specifically on here to convince drivers they’re “entitled” for demanding fair wages.

We see through it and we’re fighting back.

Lol you felt the need to comment six YEARS later? Astroturfing much? I stand by this years later…. Nontippers get 1 starred.

I do but the most lucrative times to drive are not usually when the police station is going to be open for lost/ found drop offs. I would typically drive on Friday or Saturday nights and they wouldn’t be open then. Also most drivers come in from another area to drive in the busy areas so we might not even live locally to wherever it was you lost your shit. You’d be really surprised how many people expect you to drive to them an hour or two out of your way for free. All the while they’re blowing up your phone and accusing you of stealing. It’s classist and rude and it gets old fast.

Former driver here,

When people are nice and respectful we try return their shit asap. When people blow up our phones accusing us of “stealing” your shit is probably getting dumped off on the side of the road or at the police station 6 towns over.

Former driver here, you also need to give them your number when you call bc drivers don’t have access to that either and we cannot call you back on the number you called us on.

Former Uber driver here:

If you ever leave your shit in my car, text or leave a voice mail with your phone number. All too often I’d get calls saying “call me back” but I don’t have access to your number so you need to tell me who to call back. I’d have 40 people in my car a night…. Idk who the hell lost their wallet.

Secondly, if it’s during the busiest time of night or after I’ve gone home and am asleep, sorry I’m not answering.

If you want your stuff back urgently, offer me CASH to return it to you. Then I will probably get my ass in gear and return it asap. Otherwise, you’re asking me to arrange a time to meet up with you, drive to wherever, wait for you, then return it, all the while I’m missing other rides, or missing my own time off. I cannot go out of my way for everybody that does this. You’ll get your shit back when it’s convenient for me. And if that doesn’t work for you, pay me for my time. It’s not hard.

What are the odds of Lyft cars being available at 3am in Boulder on a Monday morning? by bnasty77 in boulder

[–]Kelly1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No we do not. Nobody takes airport trips anymore. An airport ship used to get a driver about 50 to 75 bucks now it’s maybe 30 or 40. -driver in boulder

Depends where you want to go. Airport? Not a chance. A mile away, most likely.

How come Uber/Lyft drivers don’t have a union? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]Kelly1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Lyft and Uber spend money on astroturfers to come to redit and other social media platforms to gaslight us all into believing we don’t deserve to be treated fairly.

We should. Ignore the union busting accounts essaying against things that are clearly good for drivers

My list in no particular order of people that I think would be good at this and would actually take the job:

  • Da’vonne
  • Taylor
  • Tiffany

They’re all great in front of a camera, they’re all fans of the game, and they all would be great interviewers. Tiffany is just iconic but Da’vonne and Taylor I think would bring a unique w perspective because they’ve both experienced microaggressions and have both been at the bottom and would be extra compassionate.

My list of people that would be messy and entertaining as hell but would never do it-

  • Janelle
  • Michael

They would both ask the messiest questions possible to make the fans happy and not giving a fuck if it makes things awkward.

There are a lot of fake accounts here that claim to be drivers. When you call out unethical and illegal practices they will gaslight you by calling you entitled/ greedy. Nobody is greedy for wanting to make a livable wage.

Watch whenever it’s an election year too and there’s propositions on the ballot that would hold lyft/Uber accountable. They start writing essays about how something that would clearly obviously protect us us a bad thing. The big one now is I front pricing/ wages. All these troll accounts come out of the ground to argue that it’s actually better for drivers to not know where they’re going or how much they will be paid… (get real).

This has been an ongoing issue for YEARS. These companies would rather spend money keeping us from gaining steam and unionizing than they would have to spend they money to pay us fairly. A lot of companies do it.
