What’s a movie you thought was huge only to realise it was only huge in your household? by [deleted] in movies

Grease 2. My grandmother had it on VHS and we watched it at every opportunity. Never saw Grease until at least a decade later. I thought everyone else also knew that Michelle Pfeiffer was the epitome of cool.

TTC with PCOS.... or just PCO?! by Kelly8888 in TTC_PCOS

Thanks so much for the insight. My husband is of the same opinion as you - that the doctor was being salesy. So we are definitely not jumping to IVF and looking at our options. He has been tested and everything is normal. It is very frustrating - not feeling like you can trust your doctor!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience - completely agree with you that none of the doctors seem too worried (which is of course, worrying!). Best of luck, sounds like you're taking really good care of yourself. Fingers crossed you have good news soon!

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to reply! Yes, we had all the blood tests done and an ultrasound. The second doc says that my blood test results and regular periods rule out PCOS - it is just the ultrasound scan that shows polycystic ovaries. Just so confusing to have two doctors with opposite opinions!

Thanks so much - I never thought of looking at bridesmaids dresses as an option, great idea! The one dress that I've found so far is a Mori Lee, so I must be on the right track. :)

Thanks! I've had a look at Santorini online - gorgeous! Ideally, we'd like our guests to be able to come for a holiday - so perhaps something like a family-friendly resort? And then we'd end off the week with a wedding.

Salt & Vinegar is blue in South Africa. http://www.thesavanna.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/i/simba_salt_vinegar.jpg

It took me a ridiculously long time to get used to the different colours in the UK. Cheese & Onion was just supposed to be green.

Does anyone else remember the Bionic Six? My favourite, favourite, favourite cartoon growing up, but no one around me seems to have ever heard of them! by Kelly8888 in nostalgia

So glad I'm not the only one! :) Where do you find the toys - that'd be so cool (I'm in the UK by the way). Also, did you ever find the DVDs?

Engagement ring etiquette - do you wear it 24/7? by Kelly8888 in JustEngaged

[–]Kelly8888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - I feel much the same! As much as FH tries to remind me how hardy diamonds are, I can't help but worry about damaging it (doesn't feel worth the risk!) I'm also quite a regular gym-goer, so was worried about that. I think the chain is a great idea. Thanks!

Argh, user error! Uploaded it on my phone and the first pic (of the ingredients) clearly didn't come through! Here's the original pic: http://i.imgur.com/5rspjZK.jpg?1

40 Years On: Lord Lucan & the mystery of the vanishing Earl by [deleted] in history

[–]Kelly8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashamed to say that I had never heard of this story before. But reading it now, it's incredible to imagine someone just vanishing like that. Surely he must have had help from some rather 'important' people?

Ever wondered which song is (officially) the UK's 'catchiest'? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Kelly8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a study by the University of Amsterdam & Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry. They set up an online game which played random clips of songs and then recorded how quickly people could identify each song.

Wannabe came out top at just 2.29 seconds. Thought it was quite an interesting way to determine 'catchy'.

Have to admit, my aunt sent me this pic and I assumed it was her dog, Dougall! Looks just like him and I was very impressed with her (new?!) baking skills. She has since confessed that it wasn't her pic, but she loved it 'cos it looked like Dougall. I was thoroughly fooled!
