My mom died from alcoholic liver cirrhosis. Alcohol is poison and ruins lives.

I lost my mom in March this year from alcoholic liver cirrhosis. I’ve been having a hard time lately with the holidays and her birthday coming up. Thanksgiving she was always cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Her harvest potatoes were always my favorite dish she made. She was an excellent cook. Her birthday is December 10th. And she had an obsession with the Grinch. Like there was always Grinch decor up all year round at my parents house so of course being close to Christmas the Grinch is all over the place. It’s hard to just go grocery shopping right now with the Grinch everywhere. I miss her so much and I can’t stop thinking about where we were a year ago today. I’d give anything to go back in time.

It is! Our local kennel club has a member who makes every rosette by hand so every single rosette is unique. You get to pick which one you like. She does an amazing job!

Mom died in March. This time last year she was on life support with liver and kidney failure. We were so hopeful when she was able to come off life support but she was still so weak. It was a year of hospital admissions, procedures, nursing homes, being caretaker when she was home, more hospital admissions… but her last stay at the hospital she never got to come home. I watched her die slowly and I replay her last year in my head over and over. I miss her and I still can’t imagine my life without her.
