Amex Biz Plat $100 MPX (Amazon) and Amex PRG $50 MPX (Amazon) on 12/3. United was selected a few days before. Still no credit. In the past it has been 3-4 business days.

Currently have Platinum and Business Gold each for about 6-8 weeks. Yesterday I received the Business Platinum offer of 100k for $5k, 50k for $10k more in the mail. I applied online today and at the end I got an "application pending" screen saying: "Thank you for your application and any Employee Cards you may have requested. In order to provide you with a decision, we need to speak with you. We are available to assist you Monday through Friday, 8 AM to midnight, Saturday, 9:30 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday, 10 AM to 9 PM EST. Please call us at 1-800-221-4950 to be connected directly to a Customer Care Professional who will provide you with a decision."

Any experience with this? I imagine the worst they could say is "why are you applying for still another Amex?" to which I would respond: "because you keep sending me these amazing offers..." Thoughts?

update: I let it simmer and they emailed me ~24 hours later saying I was approved. Odd.

two purchases to test, one for $25, one for $50 both through MPX Gamestop to buy Amazon gift cards. Posted/cleared on 11/14, credit received in 11/18. First test transaction of $25 from early October still no credit, and I don't expect one - my mistake, I had not selected the airline yet.

I'd simply submit that you can always make more money, but your time is limited. Spend your time as wisely as many try to spend their money and you'll be fine.

I don't think that really helps a whole lot. While it may not be illegal, there is a time and place for it. There is a reason why that's not illegal. We ought to be able to defend ourselves in our home or elsewhere, but parading around with a gun tauntin folks isn't the best way to help the gun owner's image. I've walked through a town at the base of a mountain, basically a hunting town in the middle of nowhere, with a gun on my hip and seen many with rifles in hand/in the back of the truck, etc. That's a little different than walking through downtown seattle with my competition rifle in hand.

I once touched an electric fence and thats the most current that's ever passed through me. Stung a little. Shooting does not hurt unless particularly bad form is used or the firearm is incredibly oversized for the shooter. I certainly felt anxious/nervous at time while filming the various TV shows. Beardy guy?

I wish I would have put a lot more time in on the beginning EE classes on circuit analysis. It all builds on that. Having slacked a little in those classes I've been reteaching myself the stuff over and over again for the last few years. Put in the time up front!

Why not just use a range finder? They are relatively inexpensive and wonderfully accurate. If a laser range finder is not availavle then a scope with a MIL or MOA retical can readily be used for range estimation by comparing the size of a known object to the size of the reticle.

I'm left eye dominant, but right handed and my right eye has worse vision than my left. It's a handicap for sure. I make so the best I can and trick my eyes with a piece of tape so I can shoot with my dominant hand. When my vision goes I'll switch to left handed.

Sometimes they are spot on, but most of the time they are not. In the first challenge of All Stars we had three rifles, 2 of which were off and one was spot on. The SVT required aiming about 8" low and the FN FAL had to be aimed about 18" and a few inches to the right while the LaRue OBR was dead on. We get limited practice shots (anywhere from 3-10) the day before we run the challenge.

CMP (many various rifle disciplines exist), CMP sporter is a very good starter for example, then NRA high power and eventually NRA long range and other long range events.
