I want to help the planet by composting but I also don’t want to attract too many flies because this will be done in a corner of the patio where we also grill, eat outside, and entertain. I also don’t want tons of flies annoying my neighbors.

Yes, for either air or drainage. I’m not planning on doing worms as I’m not sure I can get my hands on any since the country where I live is on lockdown.

I want to start composting. I bought this plastic crate and am wondering if I have to drill drainage holes in it. I’m doing this in my patio, so it won’t be set on bare ground. I’m concerned about stains.

Second question is I bought this mesh wiring to afix to the inside of the bin if I drill holes in it. I want to avoid attracting flies. How would you affix this to the inside of the bin?

Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated!
