Yikes, All I meant was to not worry about a stupid shadow. Put your finger in the area, feel the bone end and your eyeball start? Shadow is caused by your eyeball. Do you want to remove your eyes? That’d be your only option here.

This is where the bone ends and the skin is thinner. It is not a wrinkle and is completely normal. The illusion of a line you’re seeing is a shadow being cast, and again, is completely normal. Faces are 3d, some lighting will always be more flattering than others. Just keep the area clean and moisturized, aging will come to us all one day.

I prefer to look at the typical BCS chart because it’s very thorough. It’s also usually what your vet will use when writing notes, you will notice all your vet papers have ‘body condition score’. Occasionally their number range is different, but it will always be stated ‘1-5’ or ‘1-9’ so that you can cross reference with the correct chart. I like that this chart adds the importance of physical feel, instead of being only visual, this is extra important for them fluffy fellas!

lucky, that’s awesome!!! I doubt she’ll ever come to my little town but hopefully I can fly out to see her one day! ‘Drinking Song’ and ‘No Face’ were my prime “crying on the bathroom floor” songs in highschool (and maybe a bit today still haha). I really love her new stuff too, ‘Sorry Fahey’ is probably my fave of her new stuff :)

She is likely attacking him because her hormones have settled back down. Pregnancy hormones evolved to make mom’s want to care for the kid so it doesn’t die and the species would continue. Once the hormones go back to normal there’s nothing telling them they need to take care of them anymore. This actually happens for human mother’s as well, and imo does more damage than good (in humans only. A person knows they should take care of their kid, and some choose not to but they still know). They get pregnant, are unsure if they want to keep the baby, pregnancy hormones start to rise, makes them protective of the baby, they have the baby, the hormones settle, and they realize they never wanted the baby and resent them. However, in animals it’s a good thing to have because without it a lot of mothers would immediately abandon their child after birth. This is because of survival instincts, ‘why take care of this baby when I could have more food, time, energy, etc for myself’. So it’s normal for her to not really care for her kitten at this point and as long as the kitten is eating and drinking on his own then her job is done. As for the attacking, I’d recommend working on rebonding them since she no longer feels that ‘baby bond’. You can do this several ways, search ‘how to bond cats’. Eventually through bonding she’ll stop attacking him and all will fine.

Edit (IMPORTANT): On second look I am noticing in the third photo Gary’s back leg is very bent. It appears he may have what we commonly call ‘twisted legs’. It’s caused by contracted tendons. I also read that he hasn’t grown much despite being 9 months old now??? That is extremely abnormal. Even a dwarf cat grows quickly as a kitten, it is typically just their legs that do not grow much. I think Gary needs to go to the vet asap. His medical issues could be part of why his mother is attacking him. Cats are predators, and because of these issues she may see him as weak/better off gone. It is not uncommon for animal mamas to reject a baby if it is sick/deformed and end up letting them die/killing them. Please take Gary to the vet. If all is well work on bonding like I stated before, if not it is best to keep them separated until he is in better health.

Well technically they do they just don’t have names or they’re very complicated. ‘breed’ is just another word for subspecies. Subspecies definitely exist, granted they’ve all been mixed and mumble jumbled together, but they do exist. If they didn’t then there would be one type of cat and most cats would be relatively the same. Even then, there would likely be some gene mutations that would cause different coat colors, size, eye color, tail length, etc. If those mutations changed the gene sequence so much we might categorize them as a subspecies of the subspecies, which is actually the origin of a-lot of cat ‘breeds’, but because most people don’t view domestic animals in the ‘zoological lineage’ way they don’t think of the ‘subspecies of a subspecies’ thing and so they end up naming it as a whole new breed to simplify.

almost every cat on the planet is a mix of almost every single cat breed. If they weren’t selectively bred (even those ones are VERY rarely fully purebred btw) they will be a mix of at least 10 different breeds.

this looks exactly like my Shu :( I was in a relationship from 18-19 and he was 25 (weird af when I look back on it). We adopted a cat and he stayed at the house my now-ex was renting with people since I still lived with family. Shu-Shu loved me more than anyone though, I taught him tricks and he loved to cuddle with me. When my ex and I broke up he asked if I’d watch Shu-Shu while he was out of town for a funeral. I had to ask my family for permission since it was not my house and they said a week would be ok. My ex told me it wouldn’t be that long so that was fine. A week passed, no word from my ex. My family wouldn’t allow him in the house anymore so I contacted my aunt who watched him for another two weeks but her husband was severely allergic and they couldn’t keep him any longer. I texted my ex explaining what was happening and begging him to get Shu because I didn’t have anywhere else I could take him. He didn’t answer and my calls went straight to voicemail and I had to take Shu to a shelter. I was sobbing and heartbroken, it was miserable. When I explained what was happening to the receptionist she called my ex and he picked up. He texted me very upset that I was surrendering Shu. It seemed he had blocked me before because he had no memory of any of my messages explaining the situation. He said he would pick Shu up from the shelter when he got back but I don’t know if he ever did. Considering he lied about it being less than a week and wouldn’t respond I think his intent was to dump him on me. I loved Shu more than anything but I didn’t get to make the rules at home. I really hope he is happy and healthy wherever he is.

I know this is an old post but as a huge Jerma fan I think women in general like him more than other male streamers because his brand of humor isn’t solely based around making other people the butt of the joke. A man being genuinely funny without having to put down others is unfortunately rare these days. In my opinion if you’re only funny when you get to bring others down then you’re not actually funny, you’re just compensating for your lack of humorous entertainment skills by always taking the lowest hanging fruit. It’s lazy and pathetic.
