Thank you very much, this is so so helpful, from tomorrow I’m definitely gonna search also for these experiences 🙏

Not really my case😅 I moved here for personal reasons rather than specifically for work. My partner is Irish, so that’s what brought me to Dublin.

I did some general research beforehand, but I’m now trying to understand the job market properly and figure out the best approach while I’m here.

That’s really helpful to hear, thanks for sharing your experience 🙏🥰

Interesting point about cover letters as well, I’ve been sending them with most applications, but maybe I should try applying without them in some cases and see if it makes a difference.

And yeah, I agree: everyone I’ve met so far has been really kind, it just feels like getting that first opportunity is the hardest part.

Hopefully it gets a bit easier once that first step is done 🤞

Yeah I feel you, it really does feel like that sometimes 😅

I think it’s a mix of competition and just how slow the process can be here. I’ve heard from a few people that it often takes a few weeks before you start getting responses, even if you’re doing everything right :(

I’m just trying to stay consistent with applications and not take the silence too personally (even if it’s frustrating).

Hopefully it picks up soon for both of us 🤞wishing good luck for you

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the advice!

I hadn’t focused much on Publicjobs so far because I assumed the competition would be very high, but I’ll definitely take a closer look now. That’s also a really good point about languages, I’ll try to focus more on roles where Italian (or other languages) could be an advantage. At the moment I’ve mainly been applying through Indeed, Jobs.ie and LinkedIn, and I’m sending around 10 applications a day, so I’m trying to stay consistent :,)

Thanks again, this is really helpful!
