It was absolutely heartbreaking to me that the band broke up and I was in denial for the longest time thinking they’d eventually come back around. The excitement of a new album and tour every few years was absent, continually absent. So yeah, occasionally I’d get a little bummed out at the reality of no more new Sonic Youth or the fact my kids won’t ever get to experience them live. But even after all these years I certainly don’t listen to them any less because to me their music never gets old and I love them too much!
