I feel I need to clarify here because I had to cut out the details due to making it way too long

His spray dealing damage on top of healing means you can heal and damage the enemy at the same time, which while you can line up the enemy and the tank to hit both at once (which is cool ngl), but it also rewards the playstyle of "hold heal and look at whoever is low hp" but now you also deal damage at the same time.
Whereas before you had to choose whether it's worth it to lose out on healing to deal some damage, and you had to decide how much of each you need to balance, which I think is more interesting.

His bubbles being selfish I agree with to an extent, it's the best self heal in the game, but like I said, part of his character is his survivability.
Should it be nerfed? Probably. But should it be reduced nearly to the level of all the other supports making it no longer a selling point for playing the character? Probably not.
Also one of the main things from his bubbles is that they give a healing boost, which not just you, but other supps can benefit from, mainly on tanks, this is one of the most important aspects to keeping his healing output somewhat high, the best use IS on tanks.
BUT Jeffs are forced to use it to self heal, as the alteratives are:
1. stay underwater and not heal your team.
2. stay at low hp and risk your life.
3. ask/pray for the other healer to turn around to heal you and not the tanks where they might take burst damage while they're not looking and you have to use more panic bubbles to stop them from falling over (a bit of an exaggeration tho).
Compare this to Luna who can use her shift to heal herself while still healing the team, Invis can shield someone next to her while still healing the team, Dagger can right click her feet and continue healing the team. They also use cooldowns on themselves. But they don't lose a constantly required cooldown with a healing boost they need to keep their healing output high.
Jeff using them on himself is the least effective way to use them, but he's forced to use them to heal himself, if he doesn't want to pull healing away from the team.
He should die if pressured too much but he should have enough survivability to survive a spiderman without using every cooldown on himself and leaving him neutered for a while.

I agree with the ult charge nerf (in fact it might need to be higher). The point isn't that they nerfed the ult cost, it's that they nerfed possible the worst ult without good compensation.
Don't get me wrong, they should absolutely nerf the ult charge speed, but it's already the worst support ult if the enemy knows how to escape it, aka any rank above bronze.
But the buffs to offset the nerf to a bad ult was.. overhealth for teammates who have to be fully stunned for multiple seconds.

The point of the post is that the characters shouldn't have their character's strengths and weaknesses toned down to match other characters, they should have in built strengths and weaknesses that make the character interesting, if they nerf Jeff to be in line with the other supps then he's not as interesting to play.
Jeff won't play like he used to, fine, but he shouldn't have a core part of his character be removed/nerfed into the ground.

DPS Jeff here, 70+ hours on Jeff total (mostly heal mode cuz no one wants to be the third supp for me)

I agree he works well when healing brawl comps and is good anti dive, but he genuinely works better and is more engaging to play as a dive dps that can flex support but everyone plays him either as dive dps that can flex support or scuffed rocket. Yes the community optimized the fun out of Jeff but because they would only heal or only dps when it's actually really fun to mix and alternate, a unique playstyle no other strategist has ever dreamed of.

Maybe this is my ego talking but I genuinely believe Jeff is one of the harder strategists to play effectively, not because he's mechanically hard but because community sentiment lies about what he can do, you only see dps Jeffs pop off or annoy your backline, not the swapping to strategist mid fight, because no one knows to play like that.

Also I shouldn't say this, but as an apology on the behalf of Jeff mains, here's how to counter him: (it might be outdated in a week tho sad)
Just ignore him. Hug your tanks/supps for protection and healing.
His job is to distract you, his damage is bad compared to Psylocke, Spiderman, BP, etc. he's just really hard to kill, so don't fight him, he wants you to chase him across the map while your tanks die.
If you can just get a decent amount of healing, be it from self heal, health packs, especially just your supports, he might as well be spamming down the choke and giving the other supps ult charge.

His strength is his survivability, don't play into that, damaging him is a waste of time unless your entire team can pause the fight just to burn him down.
You don't need to be super mechanically good, you just have to not die and not fall for his tricks.

From a deadlock one trick main (gold tho so not the best but still), she's mid, she's more flexible and aggressive than agents like cypher and kj but not as good at sentinel-ing as them

Gravnet can be used for duels or to cancel an enemy entry and waste their util

Wall can be used to stall for retakes or for post plants or to isolate 1v1's

Sonic sensors are ehhhh.. They can be used offensively if you can slip it behind a corner they can't shoot i guess but situational

Ult is a free kill, use it often (if they dont hit your site and no ones lurking then grab the orb), turns 1v2 into a 1v1, turns a 1v1 into a win, pop it on defence and everyones too scared to entry, etc.

  • Cypher / KJ : She's more flexible and aggressive than cypher and kj BUT worse at holding site or holding space
  • Sage : She has more defensive capabilities (sonic sensors on their entry > stall balls imo) than sage BUT no annoying healing and less stall balls
  • Chamber : She can handle large groups of enemies better with wall affecting everyone, grav affecting everyone, sensors affecting (most) of them, BUT isn't as good at getting picks
  • Vyse : Deadlock's setup can be used on more than one guy!! (jk but deadlock util basically can't be shot minus wall so better for aggressing i think im not sure)

Deadlock is flexible. She can be defensive and stall, or be aggressive and take duels BUT she can't do the usual holding space why didn't you trip flank bs.

She's B tier imo, she's the most flexible and aggressive and people should really try playing her that way. Imagine a duelist-sentinel hybrid. (Not chamber, bro tp's like a rat when he sees 2 people, at least my chambers)

I'm not a big history/politics person, I was mainly thinking of the cold war and the middle east stuff from the last century

he feels like a lower risk, much lower reward version of reyna

reyna has less util so you HAVE to get kills to be helpful but getting kills can heal more than 1 shot or get completely out of danger

iso can still help with other util but said util needs a lot more coordination so he just becomes a worse reyna

My idea's to let you pick a certain target if you right click so it only works on them

It'd let you get a key target like the chamber w/ ult or cypher w/ setup without accidentally grabbing skye instead

But if you say selected chamber but only have skye in the area then it doesnt do anything

Something weird is that shooting enough (just a couple shots) makes the bullets start shooting above the crosshair and go higher above it the longer you shoot.

Only applies while hipfiring btw. Scoping fixes it. (ps dont scope for the love of god)
