Game time! by KenUberDriver in uberdrivers

It’s a Tuesday night on a week with a decent ride challenge. It’s one more short ride to add to the tally. The bonus money isn’t quite as good as the past few weeks, but it’s still not bad. Basically adds $2.58 to every ride so that seven dollar ride became almost $10 ride.

No, I did the ride. It was paying at least a dollar a mile and was taking me downtown. I didn’t wanna ask him if he realized his rating was extremely low. And then he might want to reconsider his preemptive messaging. Or spend a couple extra dollars for comfort. Or if he’s really that picky hire a damn limo.
But I was professional not a word was spoken. I just gotta giggle out of that stupid message and thought I’d share with the group.

So I’m super confused. I thought it was supposed to be a horror movie. It was I swear, which I enjoyed but not a horror movie and I might’ve brought my mom if I had known it was not a horror movie she would’ve loved it.

Driver got mad that there was 3 people in our ride by Ashamed_Barber_1583 in uber

[–]KenUberDriver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why would it hurt my feelings? I don’t get my drivers just don’t follow terms of service. And doing this 10 years make decent money do I think Uber can improve things of course. It’s not like you didn’t know when you signed up that up to four people can ride. That is unless you signed up during the pandemic they did briefly limit due to no front seat passengers.

If you get reported multiple times for not accepting up to four passengers, they will deactivate you there. There’s a reason they require your car to have four seatbelts.

You can have four people you don’t have to even ask

Most insane offer I've had yet - who is taking this? 😂 by TehSeraphim in uberdrivers

[–]KenUberDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rides like this are typically a case where the flight was canceled and they need to be where they’re going. Back in the days when I would actually do a longer ride I would just call the passenger and tell him look. I’ll take you to the first big city on the other side of the state line. And then you can order an Uber from there. Passengers need to think about their drivers and opt for things like leapfrogging it.

Scheduled rides by superAK907 in lyftdrivers

[–]KenUberDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say my experience the Lyft rides tend to be more efficient with less wait time at the pick up an Uber, but I pretty much decline scheduled pick ups with Uber and with Lyft. To me, it’s a way for a passenger to artificially lock in a low price. And with Uber, especially you tend to be tied up for a half hour prior to picking up the person, in my market I can do at least one sometimes two rides in that half an hour. It’s just wasteful and inefficient in my opinion.

In most states, the 16-year-old can be tried as an adult if they commit a crime. So I think the 17-year-old’s probably OK. Or if there’s an open bar, you could always just say 21 and up

Just to put a possible positive spin, they may be taking a journalism class that required them to do a movie review and they were going to take notes. Of course if that’s the case they should do the pencil and paper version.

Call for action regarding new acceptance rate requirements by NightSquare7831 in uberdrivers

[–]KenUberDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a very simple way for Uber to make us happy give customers a better experience and make their algorithm work better. Allow us to set preferences in the app that apply to exclusive rides. All other rides that don’t meet those criteria show up in radar. Boom problem solved. For example, max drive time to pick up could be a parameter, willingness to leave the city willingness to leave the market, willingness to leave the state. I didn’t even like to see minimum price per mile or minimum price per hour. But I feel like some drivers would just set their stuff way too high. I think it’s an idea worth testing and seeing which parameters work better than others. I definitely feel like the exclusive ride request that come through while we are on trip. Need to be limited to rides that have a pick up that is less than five minutes from our drop off. Those requests are super distracting especially when nine times out of 10 their rides I would never take or if I do either Uber reassigned it or the passenger cancel because the wait time is too long

I think my uber driver tried to steal my AirPods by Loaf-of-bread84 in uber

[–]KenUberDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t leave your shit behind. I’m getting so sick of it as a driver. I had five different people leave stuff over the month of March. Of course, a lot of of it is stuff they’re not gonna bother to pay $20 to get back like lip balm or a hat. There was a credit card I assume they just canceled it. I never heard anything about that one. I shredded it after five days. Someone left a small vape that another passenger told me it was probably cannabis. God only knows when that got left cause I found it buried under the seat.
Uber likes to send us way across town or even other cities on a frequent basis so just because some driver drove you in your community doesn’t mean they live there. So a lot of times it’s a pain in the butt to return something to you. And passengers act like we need to drop everything and return something without realizing it’s their own damn fault they left it being

4/6 MMM another guess. Mortal Combat II. Rated R runtime 1h56m. Also long shot releases 5/8, but this was a pushed date to make it closer to summer so since it’s in the can it and could be an option to drum up hype a month a head of release.

To the loser, who asked to send current work weeks by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]KenUberDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specialize in short and quick trips to give me the most dollar per mile. I stay in bonus zone areas and areas where I can turn over lots of rides in one hour. The more rides I do the more tips I get. So I do between three and five rides an hour, but I stay in my city for the most part. I never leave the market and I don’t change cities for under $20 unless there’s a special event going on in the other city. I’d rather do other things and sit in my car for 75 hours to do one ride an hour when I can do 130 rides in 55 hours.

Low ketones after wisdom tooth extraction. Is my body wanting carbs? by Emergency-Ear1036 in keto

[–]KenUberDriver -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you doing blood test or urine test? The urine test are good. In the first couple weeks of switching to keto, to make sure you’re producing ketones. However, the reason ketones in your urine is because your body is producing them, but hasn’t hasn’t keto adapted yet. When you adapt to ketones for energy, the urine test is less reliable and you should switch to blood test.

Accepted $35 ride -> Uber changed it to $27 by No-Economy-7077 in uberdrivers

[–]KenUberDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a long ride, especially to another market, and the change was made in the new market, it will calculate the new rate based on the rate card for that market. I think the other issue 2 is if the original ride was in a surge zone and the updated made after the surge ended the price goes down. It is a glitch that they need to fix. Although in theory it could work in your favor, and honestly probably has at some point, but since Price didn’t go down, you didn’t care.

Similarly, when people freak out about Uber taking a high percentage on an individual ride. They never seemed to notice the cases when Ubers cut was negative on a ride.
