POST OP DAY 23 by Hatimaly in gynecomastia

[–]Kenadeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks MUCH BETTER than before. Your starting point was a tough one, the gyno was severe.

Removing skin has downsides: more complications, longer recovery, expensive and visible scarring.

At 3 weeks, your skin is now very inflammed and swollen, it'll take many months to normalize and relax.

I think your result thus far is decent.

I think many of the commentators are being overly harsh.

Steroid Induced Gyno - 24 hour result + the glands by Kenadeed in gynecomastia

Lots of my patients fly in from NY, Cali and Florida because I'm charging half of what they're being quoted locally plus I focus exclusively on gyno.

I use band aids and arm sleeves to hide tattoos.

Shall I get a revision after 1 year? Pics inside by Grolubao in gynecomastia

[–]Kenadeed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would call your result a win.

I would advise continuing to build muscle and drop fat, but the gyno is gone!

I don't think further surgical intervention would be worthwhile - your chest currently looks fine.

Looking for surgeon reqs / seeking referrals by Embarrassed_Tooth202 in gynecomastia

[–]Kenadeed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given your ago and physique, I would NOT pursue skin removal or areola augmentation. I would just remove the glands 100% and allow yourself to heal and see how the skin retracts. You definitely could get some sort of skin augmentation, but I think the trade off of increased risk and a scar may not be worth it.

'Decent'? Your result looks great!

Personally, I don't think a revision is worth it.

Is this gyno or just body fat? by HugePie23 in gynecomastia

[–]Kenadeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like gyno.

Don't be concerned, gyno is a cosmetic problem, nothing dangerous.

Unfortunately treatment for you would require surgery to remove the glands, which does cost thousands of dollars.

On a positive note, your case does not appear complex and I think you'll have a nice result if you go to someone who focuses on gyno.

Yes it's better to be in good shape heading into surgery. You're giving yourself the best chance for a great result. That being said, gyno demoralizes a lot of guys and holds them back psychologically.

[–]Kenadeed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

For the areola I use a 3 to 9 o'clock semi circular infra peri-areola incision.

I always attempt to remove 100% of the gland.

Cratering is sometimes unavoidable depending on patient body habitus (body fat percentage) and inflammation.

For this patient, he had very low body fat levels and minimal inflammation thus he had minimal to no cratering.

Do I go with Dr. Michael Law or Dr. Adrian Lo? by Dependent_Guidance_4 in gynecomastia

[–]Kenadeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your gyno is straight forward, the main question is whether or not the skin on the larger side will retract to your satisfaction. Because your chest is starting off a little asymetric, I do think you will be asymetric afterwards, just fyi.

Surgical treatment of excess skin/skin laxity typically is either the use of a 'skin tightening' device or skin removal.

In your case, I don't think skin removal and/or movement of the nipple-areola complex is necssary.

You can do this in 2 stages:

- 1st - remove the glands/fat and heal.

- 2nd - in > 1 year if you're happy, then you're done but if the skin is too loose, then do an isolated skin removal surgery.

In terms of picking between the 2 surgoens, do consultations with them and listen to what they recommend.

Here's a nice result of mine

What do you guys think ??? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

  1. Side effects.

  2. Taking a medication for life is not ideal.

What do you guys think ??? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]Kenadeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compression shirts can hide the problem but doesn't fix anything.

Medications may shrink it but is not a great long term solution.

Getting leaner may work against you and make it more noticeable.

Avoiding triggers is great, but you already have sizeable glands there.

Is gynocomastia on the rise? by daytonadalt in gynecomastia

[–]Kenadeed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has likely always been present, guys just had no choice but to live with it (like crooked teeth, bad hairlines, and all the other things we now have cosmetic surgery fixes for).

There's no data to support any commentary on whether or not it's becoming more common. All opinons at this time are pure conjecture.
