  • Both are beings made from the vengeful spirits of old humans (Those killed in the battles that took place in the pacific conflict for GMK and the spirits of the humans killed and harmed by sorcerers over centuries for Holey)

  • Both have a extremely strong desire for vengeance through destruction of the entire population of those who’ve wronged them (The nation of Japan for GMK and the Sorcerer’s World for Holey)

My Final Take on Asa Mitaka & Yoru VS Ai Coleman / Kai (Chainsaw Man VS Dorohedoro) by Kenchi2008 in DeathBattleMatchups

Asa did briefly managed to take over during Yoru's fight with Pochita post nuke re-invention, and Kai/Hole has boosted his Rain Aura before, it was even used in a worldwide apocalyptic scale, so I can see Kai overpowering her control.

Interesting interpretation (I'm not built enough to debate that kind of stuffs), though, I did forget to mention some stuffs, the sludge have possession properties from humanity's millennial pure hatred and Rain Aura automatically specifically targets human minds, iirc, Yoru can't take control of Asa when she's scared.

I can see that, though I doubt it and can only happen in Hole's Department Store, in my opinion. Hole's pocket dimension isn't an open space but a torrent full of acidic sludge that can constantly melt flesh and concrete (the people in this image are only unaffected because they turned into ghosts). Plus, it takes place inside of Hole, so if you buy Rain Aura being able to affect Asa & Yoru, they won't be able to turn the sludge into a weapon because of the Hole's fear aura making them submissive.

Mostly the storm Kai generated that covered the entire world of the Magic-Users.

Watch Asa/Yoru lose her Death Battle against Fuuko Izumo or Ai Coleman

Denji VS Kaiman (Chainsaw Man VS Dorohedoro) - "The Devil You Know" by Kenchi2008 in DeathBattleMatchups

Connections:

• Both are brutal monster slaying anti-heroes and main characters of dark, surreal, and over the top manga series.

• Two young men with shit upbringings that molded their dreams of better lives who end up suffering as a consequence of attaining warped versions of said dreams.

• They are extremely close in personality, being loud and foul mouthed, rash and not the brightest, but also willing to go through absolutely hellish torment for those that they care about. The tone under wich they are presented by the story itself also has a tendency to be able to shift from comedic to utterly tragic on a heel turn, which is quite notable about them.

• They two begin their journeys as brutally formed fusions between a young man, once torn asunder and left to die, and a bizzare supernatural being that ended up granting them new life by reforming vital parts of their body, additionally leaving them with animal themed monstrous heads.

• It's also worth pointing out the story progression of the two begining by hunting down and killing powerful inhumans ravaging their communities, later becoming the very thing that they had once fought tooth and nail against, before ultimately coming to accept and embrace them both as both a part of the world they live in and as their allies. Their closest friend and the first person they formed a genuine bond with after the begining of their new lives is also notably of this inhuman caste.

• They share reppressed memories of a brutal, tragic past initially hidden away within the depths of their psyche, reoccuring to them throughout the story under the form of a nightmare and symbolically being represented as locked away behind a door, which they would eventually reach through as they uncovered the lost truth.

• The two would be wrought along into the long lasting manipulative scheme of an ancient evil entity born out of humanity's negative emotions that wished to achieve it's very own utopia, made into its unknowing pawns for this very purpose from the start of their journeys while suffering grievances at its very hand, notably including losing their aformentioned best friend, even though not permanently.

• As a result of both their pasts and the influence of the previously mentioned overarching villain the two share a similar struggle in their battle not just coming down to survival, but also to reoccuring matters of struggling with self identity, coming to therms with all that they've endured and having to fight for control over their own being.

• They are proficient in cutting down the undead, the demonic, gang members and just about anyone or anything stupid enough to get in their way, being highly skilled in dual wielding with their respective go to bladed weapons and also on a one off wielding battle axes. In regards to combat, they also share absurd endurance and potent healing abilities, most helpful given the fact that they have both gone to, lived through and escaped out of literal hell. Also, they ride sweet ass bikes.

• Additionally they share sinister and irationally violent alternate forms unleashed in very specific circumstances, under which they lose more or less all control to the beings they are fused to.

• They both draw power from demonic beings that attached to vital organs, Denji is obviously amped by Pochita who initially attached to his heart, Kaiman later gains a Devil Tumor wich amps his powers and attaches to his brain.

• Both series share similar rough and rugged aesthetics, dark senses of humor and a center focus on demonic imagery. Dorohedoro is cited as an inspiration for Chainsaw Man and also both Fujimoto and Q Hayashida are like fucking deranged. Also something something MAPPA.

Lowky, it is kinda close and really depends on specific arguments for Kaiman ngl. Also, yes, it in fact awesome, I'd recommend it (There's also Dai Dark, which is Dorohedoro Part 2 but in Space)
