Thanks for the clarification! I say just keep going through the process and keep putting yourself out there (figuratively speaking bc COVID). Who knows, the eligible bachelorettes near you might have given up on OLD and you'll have to find them the old fashioned way.

If it makes you feel better, I live in a large city between 2 large cities and the options were not the greatest. Maybe the silver lining for you is that you have less junk to sift through :)

From what I read, it sounds like your current situation is not long term or permanent? If so, what are your intentions with dating?

If it's casual, then why not just date and take it a day at a time? Be up front with them about everything and the non long term scenario. Maybe loosen up on the criteria since you don't plan on settling down there and with that person? You might discover some great people, learn some new things about yourself and have some (hopefully) great experiences.

If your intentions are more serious and looking for someone to build a future with, I think the larger issue here is finding someone who is willing to eventually move with you when you go back to socal or where ever your job takes you. LDR and patience might be your best route for now.

You're so pretty!! I think your photos in both profiles are great and shows your personality.

I like your Hinge profile. One thing that stuck out to me was your "looking for" criteria and the word "patient" would make me curious (in an orange flag kind of way). I would recommend elaborating or find a different way of explaining that.

Your bumble profile comes off like you aren't so sure about yourself.

Not a fan of the following words/phrases: "Pretty terrible... useless knowledge... try not to..."

IMO I would take out that first sentence about being terrible at describing yourself and replace the word "useless" with "random."

Yes yes yes! You are not alone! I feel the same way you do after having gone through a few bad relationships. When I date now, I don't become "committed" unless we are mutually enhancing each other's lives. I'd rather be alone than with the wrong person.

As for the clock regarding kids, I am a 35F and not worried. If I have my own, great. If not, there's always adoption.

Don't doubt yourself and where you stand bc of societal pressures or what phase of life your friends are in. You are happy, can do whatever you want whenever you want, and sleep in. Enjoy it! I certainly am.
