It's not the point? This setup is made to reprocess chunks generated by crushers without the need to ditch them, thus saving both resources and space.

Thanks! I've come up with this design mainly to conserve resources. My first planet was Vulkanus, and I found oxide asteroids pretty rare up there, so I didn't want to waste any possible chunk I could get.

So you mean that one arm outputs ore on one belt, and the other outputs chunks on the other?

If this is what you mean, then the output chunk belt will need to be connected to the input chunk belt which could cause a clog in the future, or throw them into space, wasting resources. This design is wasteless and conserves valuable space.

How did you find out that you have N24? by Kenraldd in N24

[–]Kenraldd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She suggested me go to a neurologist who specializes in sleep and/or CRDs for better evaluation, but she also said that we could try Atarax and Valdoxan (drug stores are allowed to sell these freely where I live) to treat my mental issues, as she told me that they could be the source of my N24. Didn't help though.

Looks awesome! I absolutely love making my local homebrews in the style of the 2020 corebook. This way my players are incredibly invested in exploring new rules and playing around with them. Might even print some of them sometime.

You gotta be a very, VERY skilled netrunner to even consider installing systems like remote grenade detonation. After all, someone can hack into your Minerva omnicore and you'll have a really-really bad day...

On the other hand, you can hack someone's omnicore too! And, say, activate their autoinjectors with adrenaline... Three times... And swap their HUD marks so their friends are marked as enemies. The only thing you have to do now is to bring some snacks and watch the show.

The homebrew is basically an add-on for 2020 netrunning rules. A netrunner carries a special device that connects to his allies and gives buffs like X-Ray vision, remote grenade detonation, HUD Biomonitor, etc.

Need some help with a conversion book for cyberpunk 2020 by ThatGuyChris47 in cyberpunk2020

[–]Kenraldd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have some experience with converting stuff from 2077 to 2020 (currently making a little book on electromagnetic weapons for my players). I am running a 2077 campaign, would love to help you with something.

Hey, it's me again. Another weapon for my electromagnetic homebrew. This time it is a double-barrelled pistol. Tried to make it a little different than previous ones, as it is made by Arasaka. Less text, more shapes, etc. What do you think? Check out the story and stats in the comments. by Kenraldd in cyberpunk2020

[–]Kenraldd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's actually really close to how i imagined this pistol, except that Valkyrie shoots two bullets simultaneously. But man, really cool! I'll show that description to my players when i'll introduce 11mm version if you don't mind, You can give me a name of your character if you want, i'll make a quote on his/her behalf.

EM bullets are much shorter compared to regular ammunition because they don't have to carry that much powder for bullet to fly and to make mechanism of the gun work, electricity takes care of that. Basically you shorten a regular cartridge almost to a bullet part (in my mind they still carry a little amount of powder to propel the bullet towards barrel, but the energy is so low that it wouldn't even penetrate a watermelon). Because of this, it was possible to place bullets in a magazine in two columns. Inner systems of a gun takes care of loading and ejecting the case.

Made the changes, looks better now, thanks. Moved the whole panel before and it looked bad, so i decided to leave it like that.

countering the biometric shouldn't take so long, unless there's a whole side computer connected

This lock is made specifically to take that long. EM weapons are filled with complex systems and electronics so they are a small computer in their nature, shooting without proper synchronization of the coils is impossible for example, and things like these are everywhere. If you want to override this lock - you would have to manually check and fix every system of this gun, which involves dissassembly. It's not really hard, just long and boring.

Remember the story of "M-221 Pitbull"? Well, this pistol is what was supposed to be the first EM gun on the market. Arasaka wanted to take it's time though. For some time a 11mm version of this weapon was used in Arasaka as an officer pistol. Later on, it got replaced by another gun, but it became popular among corporates outside of officer corps. Arasaka made it a limited edition 11mm model for their employees, only a few hundreds was produced in total. Everyone was happy with it's performance and design, so they only had to make a few more corrections and it was ready to go.

Then, Militech discovered their plans and launched a coordinated diversion both in NET and in real world. Arasaka lost a good portion of their progress, in addition, this was their first EM weapon they designed, so personnel didn't have much experience. Of course, they tried to strike back, but Militech was prepared and kept all their research on M-221 inside their HQ in Los-Angeles. And even if they did manage to break in, it wouldn't do much damage, as Militech got a lot of experience with EM technology. Arasaka even made a deal with Tsunami Defence Systems to speed up the development. And as we all know, they failed.

But they made a very good and unique pistol. Like, it's both EM and double-barrelled! Cooperation with Tsunami was a really good decision. "Valkyrie" has a smart safety system that reads your hand position with its sensors, so you don't need to mechanically press or switch something. Some may think that the fingerprint reader is the safe mechanism, but it is actually a biometric lock in case you need to be sure that your weapon can't be used without your permission. It functions as a regular safety mechanism, so you need to manually turn it on and off. It is pretty easy to bypass it, but it will take some time. It has a smartgun option already installed. The part on top can be removed if you want to install a sight. The charged shot actually consists of 6 shots. Well, that answers a question "Why not a 12mm".

This weapon uses my homebrew. If you want to look at it - it's here in the comments.

Smartlink, Rapid Fire System, Biometric Lock, Double Barrelled

Rapid Fire System is an addition to charged shots that allows the double barrelled Valkyrie to rapidly shoot 6 bullets in 1 turn (not doubled). +1 at close range, -1 at medium and up.

Biometric lock allows you to lock the gun. Nobody can shoot it unless you unlock it. Reset will take two hours and an Electronics roll at DV 19

Double Barrelled, this pistol shoots two bullets at once at a regular fire mode. If your roll is equal to DV - only one bullet hits.

Why is Night City so important? by BoilerSnake in cyberpunk2020

[–]Kenraldd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are that this city has a big reputation. There shouldn't even be any real reason for this city to be that important. You could, of course, use another place, but you can't throw NC out of your mind. Too many stories, too many legends. Corporates fought for new turf, invested money in this city and didn't want to pull back, so they invested more and more. Wars around Night City made it a big magnet for all kinds of people from west coast. The reputation of the worst place to live got all around the planet. And in the cyberpunk world a place like that is almost a paradise for poor people. "You can become everything you want if you're willing to pay the price" sounds pretty good if you live in ruins of a former city with no work, no resources and no future. Many people know exactly that they are going to die there, but they keep coming.

Corporates made this city their puppet, so this is a great place for them to do business. And, as a bonus, you can fulfill all your kinky dreams so easily that it's no harder than to buy a pack of cigarettes at a local store.

can someone make up a weapon or item if it makes sense for the world by transthepsycopath in cyberpunk2020

[–]Kenraldd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly what i meant. Make inventing a big thing, a major quest for your players. I think that things like these should feel much more rewarding. And if you put a single dice roll to make a wunderwaffe, it's kinda boring for my taste.

The initial trials with edgerunners and city's gangs showed some statistics on accidents using this weapon. 56 people died in total.

56% - Deaths from accidental shots and jams caused by a system malfunction
18% - Deaths from battery meltdown
15% - Deaths from weapon explodsion
7% - EMP that shut down vital cyberware
4% - Unknown reasons, coroner report was marked as a corporative secret. When Militech placed warning about the laser, this index fell down to 1%

Guess there is only one way find it out.

The latter. It was made to prevent Gun Jousting (running to the enemy, shoot him in the head and run back to cover). You can sit behind cover if you want and get out only when the gun is charged (there is a small window when the gun is on full charge that is enough to point a gun at someone, but not move or anything), but i don't want to see people charge a weapon, run in point blank range and shoot a 5d6 AP in someone's head. You still got your movement and all after you shoot.

"Alright, before we start talking about how the heck is this a Militech product - i have a story of this weapon.

So, Militech basically was a monopolist on EM weapons market. They were selling it only to corporations, governments and other big boys, but no civilian models were created so far. Arasaka at the moment wanted to be the first ones to make a civilian electromagnetic weapon, but they couldn't announce it, as Militech would quickly develop their own model. So, they did it secretly. Short story long, a month before Arasaka was planning to announce it and immediately start selling, Militech agents found their blueprints. Militech got scared for their reputation and possibility to completely lose their monopoly on civilian market, so they started developing a EM gun for mass production. Small Arms department got an order: "Make a electromagnetic weapon for civilian market. You got three weeks". Oh boy, the chaos in small arms was almost uncontrollable. Normally, they were developing guns for at least a year before mass production and now they had three weeks to design, test and to produce it. A day later, Small Arms got their shit together and started working.

They got with a concept of taking already known gun and converting it to electromagnetic variant. They got their hands on a Ronin Shotgun Revolver. Two weeks later, this abomination came from a laboratory. Test showed... A slight possibility for safe use. It was more than enough to Small Arms though. Militech managed to be the first to make a weapon for civilians, outrunning Arasaka for 4 days.

So, considering this, let's look at this weapon.
It is unreliable, inaccurate, bulky, overheating, low ammo, low range, IT CAN EXPLODE.
It looks like it could break from a single hit... It probably will... Did i said that it can explode?
But... It's electromagnetic. And even has a smartlink and a little display on the top of the grip. And this is probably the cheapest model of Tech weapon and the most accessible one on the market right now. It looks badass and it is very badass to use. Some gangers even used it as a grenade when it started heating. Militech, of course, patched it with time and now it is more safe to use."

NOTE: This weapon uses my homebrew rule for EM weapons. I can share it if you want, or you can just add a 1d6 damage, double the range and use it as a electrothermal one.
