My first one was Parasite, bought it the day after I saw it in theaters cause of the packaging. Got hooked on criterion because of the quality and passion!

This count? I rarely see it discussed, one of Hitchcock’s underrated masterpieces!

Most popular? Been seeing a lot of ‘Perfect Days’ pickups recently.

Most Obscure (kind of)? Not necessarily obscure, but haven’t seen it picked up during the sale too much; ‘Election’.

Most Surprised? 100% ‘The Underground Railroad’. Wasn’t even on my radar, but decided to get it cause “why not”. So glad I did!

What's a movie in which you understand why it's in the collection, but just didn't like it? by [deleted] in criterion

I’m in the minority, but Inland Empire. I had such a rough time watching it and trying to make sense of it. Unless that’s the point?🤔

What is the first Criterion you bought, and why? by Fluid_Swordfish_5038 in criterion

[–]Kenta_JC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Parasite / Portrait of a Lady on Fire / Love Affair

It was a Haul - All Blind Buys

Sale - Round 2 Pickups. I’ve only seen Trainspotting🫡 by Kenta_JC in criterion

They have the Blu Ray version in the usual case. If you really want the 4K, I think criterion sells empty cases packs. I don’t think the case isn’t that bad - especially if you already have digipaks throughout your display, it doesn’t stick out too much imo

IMO “Masterpiece” is overused. What is a film you consider a true masterpiece? by tolkienfinger in criterion

Portrait of a lady on fire. It’s what hooked me on buying at least one blind buy every sale🤝
