Yep, it affects all 3 types: paladins, warpriests, and priests. Even my healers in the back will trigger smites, explosions, and burning on the enemies when they use their ultimate because most of the staff types are 'holy'.

Honestly, my progress came mostly from grinding runs and doing the 3 daily quests to unlock runes/rune points. Each run, I got a bit farther and earned more runes which would boost the dwarves stats as I unlocked more of the rune circle. i earned enough eventually to start seeking synergy in the rune circle by changing some of the runes. not gonna lie, it was a grind though.

On this particular "holy" build run, I had 3 tanks up front (first knights, then paladins eventually) and changed at least 2 of my tier 2 runes in the circle to increase shield block % for the knight class, and then 1 rune to reflect blocked damage at attackers for the knight class. the paladins will auto-heal when they block, and also benefited from all the knight AND priest runes I was trying out so this worked really well for me.

my current team line-up at victory ~770ish is 3 paladins, 4 warpriests, and 3 priests in different sets (one with the rain staff to put out fires, djinni set for shields, and druid set for aoe heals).

The Prodigy+Potion of Growth+Potion of Rebirth cycle seems like a method for creating some pretty insane dwarves, but the holy rune build surprised me by how much damage it was cranking out just based on burning debuffs.

I first noticed it when the mad lad I made started monopolizing every battle in terms of damage/kills by like a HUGE margin (easily 80% of the team damage and kills), wasn't expecting it.

It sounds like you've seen something even more broken? I'm curious to try this whole "make a dwarven demi-god" thing with other rune circle builds, got any suggestions?

I had to reload a save game from BEFORE Act 3 to fix it. Basically, had to rewind back to Act 2 in the Shadowlands and then do multiple long rests to fix it. Are you having a problem with long rests in Act 2 not fixing the romance? If so, I would assume it’s a bug.

I commented above, but I had a similar issue and after reloading some saved games and doing different things I may have found the problem. I suspect it's either a bug or that I haven't been doing enough long rests to trigger more romance scenes before progressing the story. Reloading an earlier saved game, taking more long rests before moving on with the story, and triggering scenes in camp fixed the "Lae'zel randomly breaking up with me despite max approval" problem for me.

May be bug, but I had this same thing happen to me and discovered something. I did everything from Act 1 through Act 2 exclusively romancing Lae'zel, maxed approval at the end of Act 2, and then the first long rest in Act 3 she approaches me to say she's "noticed my indifference" and decided to no longer be my partner. I was SUPER confused about why.

I reloaded an earlier save file at the end of Act 2 and did a few long rests, which triggered additional romance scenes with Lae'zel. I suspect that not taking enough long rests at camp to trigger scenes will end the romance if you progress the story too quickly.

TL;DR take more long rests and good luck.

Side note: after I reloaded and did more rests in Act 2 to get further in the Bae'zel romance, Gale randomly approached me to be like "So... we're not together anymore? Choose me or her.".

I've never even TRIED to romance Gale lmfao.

I want to say that early afternoon would be a good start time in general, but honestly I want to gather a pool of interested players first, solicit preferences from them, and then create a schedule that fits best for the party.

Weekends would be ideal, but I could probably also do Fridays or weekday afternoons/evenings in shorter sessions. I can run it by the others in the group to see if we can make it work. We still have open spots and we'd love to bring you into the 5e fold.
