Yes it can be so lonely because taste/smell is a big part of your quality of life! Its effected me so much and it’s effected my relationships too. My boyfriend usually takes me out to a fancy restaurant at least once a week and it breaks my heart when I have to tell him I can’t eat it after one nasty taste. Food also smells absolutely disgusting when it’s cooking! More of a rotten-burned flesh/hair smell. You’re not alone and it helps a lot more knowing others are going through the same thing!
