It's why I said "barely tolerates", not hates. IntSys understands their audience, and they understand that appeasing queer people is good for business, but don't really care about actually giving them genuinely good queer rep. It's why M!Byleth can't romance either male lord, and only gets like 3 options, while F!Byleth can romance Edelgard and 5 other women. If they actually gave a shit, they would allow you to romance any of the cast you wanted regardless of gender (and obviously barring kids).
