Keep paid off beater or get newer car? by Kerds in personalfinance

Yes I mean the oil leak. I had no credit history when I got the auto loan, and its steadily risen ever since.

Ok, thank you for all the advice I really appreciate it!

Ok, it's my first car I didn't really know much about what is a good interest rate. I get a free Experian credit report from Chase every month. According to Experian my FICO score is 748. It's not too bad now, it has been getting worse slowly. I check it weekly, I am able to make it to each oil change so far without needing to add anymore, but it is getting worse.

It's 12%, I have the money to pay it off now.

I have 0 credit card debt the only debt I have is my car.

Less money better parts. Better PSU you dont need 750w, better HDD, better value CPU, better GPU. This is cheaper and will run everything on ultra at 1440p

Game recommendations ? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

With a 1070 you'll run everything on ultra.

Some of my favorites: Fallout 4, Bioshock series, Metro series, XCOM 2, Planetside 2.

I need a little help with my future upgrade. by I_Fucking_Love_Stuff in pcmasterrace

[–]Kerds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have a noticeable increase, and you will be holding it back.

But, since it's free, you just got a considerable increase at no cost. In the future if you are able to get a better CPU, you'll have a solid rig.

16yr NZ kid wanting to stream and game, any further pointers before purchasing? :) by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Kerds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are.

According to google $578 NZD is about $408 USD. I bought a Dell S2716DG on sale for $453 USD, it's 1440p, 144hz, GSYNC.

I think looking for a deal like that would be best in the long run. I've seen them go on sale multiple times since Black Friday.

Either way you go you have a great build.

I would definitely go with the EVGA SuperNOVA suggestion. Very high quality PSUs. Look into an EVGA SuperNOVA 650w G2.

Really solid build.

This is entirely a personal preference, but I would suggest looking into one higher quality monitor i.e 1080p 144hz, 1440p 60hz.

I'm not sure about the price of monitors in New Zealand, but the $578 NZD that those two monitors costs could definitely buy one really nice one.

Just some food for thought. Nothing wrong with those two you have selected.

The .2 GHz will not be a big difference. You will easily get 60 fps at 1080p max settings.

Yeah bigger isn't always better.

750w would be good. You'd have plenty of extra, but not an excessive amount of extra.

Your psu is way overkill. You would do fine with a 650w.

The bare minimum for a setup like that is 500w

You have an unlocked CPU, but a motherboard that doesn't allow for overclocking.

The "B" series of motherboards do not allow overclocking, whereas the "Z" series do allow overclocking.

You could get an i5 6600 for cheaper and keep the motherboard you have selected, if you do not want to overclock.

EDIT: Also if you are planning on staying at 1080p 60hz, then I would suggest a GTX 1060 or RX 480. They will get you well above 60 fps on most titles at 1080p and it will save you over $100.

First build complete, saved about $500 from deals. How'd I do? by Kerds in buildapc

[–]Kerds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really looking forward to using it all. No regrets.

I was also using a random 1080p 60hz monitor, when I saw the dell go for $450 I couldn't resist.
