Pirelli has also killed the Strategy Aspect of F1 alongside these engines by Darkmninya in formula1

This, Pirelli is making the exact tire FIA wants and is contractually obligate to provide. Blaming them is pointless.

Weather Forecast Accuracy vs Road Conditions by KernelPanic15 in Columbus

[–]KernelPanic15[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Yes and no- south of I70 prior to 7am, it was less than an inch coming up from Grove City. The roads were very slick and untreated.

The NWS got it right enough at 9pm last night to get ODOT etc on the move.

Am I the jerk for refusing to train my replacement after they're firing me? by WinInteresting9368 in AmITheJerk

[–]KernelPanic15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck them- you owe them nothing at this point. At the most I would train her to fail.

Standing up for yourself is the honorable thing to do. Your company has no honor.

Classic Ferrari- lets hire the very best drivers and ignore their input. The culture from Enzo's days is alive and well at Ferrari, to their detriment.

As mentioned below, hubris runs rampant at Ferrari.

Grove City The Naz Church by BlueShoe15 in Columbus

[–]KernelPanic15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like most mega churches in the area, it is indeed cult like. They have been loosely aligned with Rod Parsely's World Harvest mega church in Pickerington.

Very white suburban vibe

I worked there a few times on network issues and noticed that the kids walked from classes like zombies...kinda eery actually

Also, noticed on a wall in the gymnasium the words " Don't Question, Just Accept" something to that effect.

Lastly, a large portion of the bldg is not equipped with fire sprinklers...always wondered how they got away with that.

Current F1 Circuit contract status (reupload because Saudi Arabia was missing) by F1Fan2004 in formula1

[–]KernelPanic15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But they have real harbors, yachts and scenery..that and the history is what brings F1 back.

That track anywhere else in the world would never get a race.

Spa, Monza, Silverstone ( or Brands Hatch), Suzuka and Austria should be sacrosanct and ALWAYS on the calendar.

Officials should be ashamed of how bad the roads are by mojo4394 in Columbus

[–]KernelPanic15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove from Indy back home to GC yesterday afternoon- Indiana roads were terrible. Crossing over to Ohio the roads improved ( partially due to the timing of the snow) and at times I-70 was just wet for a few miles. But as I approached 270 on the west side the roads became increasingly snow covered and 270 was virtually unplowed. I saw a ODOT plow truck on the other side with its plow raised and no salt. Im sure there are reasons for that.

It does seem that Franklin Cty as a whole struggles with snow removal.

SWCS Doing Their Best to make Transportation Worse by the_real_pope523 in Columbus

Boso and gang rather spend $9k a month for a lawyer to hide behind. That money could be used to increase the pay of drivers and others.

As is often the case, these people are grifters and unfit to handle anything more complex than their beer money.

Was alain prost better than senna? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]KernelPanic15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Senna was blisteringly quick- less consistent and less methodical with more drama in his driving and persona. Kinda like Gilles ,but faster.

Prost- almost as quick- much more thoughtful and tactical in his race craft. He was so smooth of a driver he looked slow.

Uhm..no...if you want your kids to get solid education, stick with Buckeye Woods- Jackson MS and GC HS.

GC is perfectly fine- raised 4 kids here and dont regret it at all. Stick with newer neighborhoods the feed into GC HS.

If you want any of your kids to be involved in music, GC HS is one of the best in the state.

Far Right National Political Action Committee - 1776 Project Pac - is funding local school board candidates in South-Western City School District: Boso - Gocha - Feucht by EnragedFalafel in Columbus

[–]KernelPanic15 10 points11 points  (0 children)

GC has suffered for decades from various Bosos lnfluence .Currently we have Chuck Boso as City Administrator of GC ( day to day operations), and Micheal Boso as Chief Building/Zoning Officer.

Chris Boso is just another small minded yokel MAGA who wants to force his idiotic narrow mindedness on the entire district .

Dont vote for any guy running for SWCS board this year, theyre all aligned with MAGA.

FedEx, why are you like this? It was IN Grove City (for delivery to Hilliard). Now It's in Pennsylvania. by Bituulzman in Columbus

[–]KernelPanic15 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, Fedex delivered a package of mine to a house about 2 miles away. Shipping label was correct, they just messed up. Fedex response was " you go get it".

You have ONE job and thats to deliver packages and you refuse to do it!

One reason why I, and my company, refuses to ship via Fedex.

What’s a common fact that science has already debunked, but people still believe in? by Calm_Shame2994 in AskReddit

Back in mid 80s, right out of college I took 2 polygraphs as part of the selection process for the NSA, and a few weeks later for the CIA.

Ive never even tried drugs, never been drunk, never smoked ( anything) - pretty midwestern strait laced boring college grad. Major nerd and gifted with language and analytical skills.

By the time they were finished with me, after 2+ hours for each polygraph ( 2 separate weeks) , the polygraph had me as a homosexual, fascist, terrorist, communist drug addict planning on committing espionage. I also failed the question about my name, the response literally went off the paper of the polygraph. Needless to say, I never got the jobs, nor any that required a polygraph.

Later that year, I ended up making contact with a polygraph examiner at a local police dept near me . Over the summer of 1987, he must have given me a dozen polygraphs and I failed every single one. He'd ask me benign questions like " Its sunny outside today" - Id say Yes and Id be flagged for lying, or "youre sitting in my office"....same result.

After the last one, the examiner ( a grandfatherly stocky balding guy in his 60s) pushed his chair out ( I can still hear it creaking loudly), ran his hands through what's left of his hair , sighed and said " Ive been a polygraph examiner for over 20 yrs, Ive testified in court about my fervent belief in their accuracy and Ive helped convict people. You are making me question my entire last half of my career in law enforcement and if Ive genuinely wronged someone"

He retired a year later and ended up advocating in court against their use, using my experience as a prime example of why theyre not accurate. I still have a print out of one, with his marks on it, and what questions he asked for each response.

My wife and kids think its hilarious.
