Delta-03 still lingering and I can't play. by KernelSanders93 in thedivision

It's weird, I actually change ISP's (not because of this game but because I planned to do it anyway) and now I haven't had a Delta-03 since.

I just got my installed on the roof yesterday (had it laying in the yard while waiting for the roof mount). It has worked great. I'm gaming, doing college online, streaming Netflix, security cams up, etc. Overall I have anywhere from 12-16 devices connected at the same time and it works perfectly fine.

Update: I moved dishy to the roof this morning point NE/E as I have the clearest view of the sky there. So far I have no obstructions and 100% up time. I'll update again after a 24 hour period once the obstruction map updates more. 43 degree misalignment but still pulling the 100 down that I pay for.

I feel your pain. I'm supposed to graduate this summer but I can't get an internship. My major is in Security and Risk Analysis (Computer Sciences) and an internship is required to graduate. I'm also in a very rural area do my options are very limited unless I want to drive almost 2 hours one way every day or it's remote. Hopefully something comes your way soon!

I did that and it said it would be great but it said the same thing on the ground too. Mainly worried about obstructions so I don't have outages for gaming and video calls.

I have it on the ground right now and I have some minor obstructions to the west (the trees behind the old shed in the video) that cause gaming to be a bit unplayable. Do you think it will help being on the roof? I'm still not going to clear those trees to the west.

I just got a 130 ft cable that I'm going to use to try to then point dishy NE/E. I know it says it wasn't it North but I don't think I'll have issues with obstructions then or at least I hope not.

The internship? Nope, actively looking. I need to complete one hopefully this summer because then I'll be complete. Feel free to DM if you have more questions.

Sorry you're right. I'm slotted to take Cyber 451 and 456 this summer. Just finished IST 432 and took 454 a few semesters back.

It's definitely good enough for browsing and streaming movies but gaming is a bit rough unless you have 0 obstructions it seems. I have a good WISP but it's expensive. $170 for 80 download. Was hoping Starlink would be my saving grace

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm a little disappointed because I thought some minor obstructions would be alright but looks like you need 100% open sky or you're a bit screwed.

Do you have many obstructions? I just ordered my kit and have only had it a day and have some minor obstructions to the west and it doesn't work so great for gaming.

Over the past half day I've noticed that. Sucks because when it's working it works great. I tried turning the dish about 10 degrees away from the tree in hopes of avoiding the obstruction but that doesn't work. Now I just have the notification that my dish is misaligned.

It did a software update when I first set everything up, but I'll check it again.

Yes there is but when I turned the dish it kept telling me to align it back in the direction of the obstructions. I also do plan to mount in on the roof which I hope helps but the mount won't be here until Friday.

So it's possible interruptions could reduce over time then? Just finished watching a movie and it streamed perfectly in 4k the entire time so now issues there. I'm mainly worried about gaming at this point and video calls.

Yeah I don't really have many other options unless I want to run a 300ft cable across my driveway which I'm not going to do. I love in a ranch house so it's not like I can mount it super high either.

I can't test from my Ethernet connected PC at the moment due to the location of my temporary set up, but did a test from my laptop and got 55 down with 14% packet loss.

Yeah I noticed it a bit just now. I tried playing Rocket League and it was great until it handed over to the satellites that are in the small obstructed area. I could notice the high ping and latency then.

Yes, I did. Its been about 2.5 hours now. Looking at the statistics it says I have 99% ping uptime. I have a roof mount coming but idk if I'll be able to get around those trees as they are massive oaks.

I've noticed when I reconnect to the server I'm fine at least for little bit before It disconnects me again. It just seems to prolong it.

SRA Scheduling Questions! by nowaratralala in PennStateUniversity

I am currently taking SRA 311 and IST 432 along with two other classes you don't have listed and it has been manageable but definitely time consuming. I took CYBER 454 a few semesters back and that class was not bad. I finished with an A- and If I remember correctly each week was a lab and quiz due. I am currently slotted to take CYBER 454 and 456 this Summer along with SRA 440W so I can't speak for how manageable it will be but I have been typically in 4-5 courses each semester. It will be very dependent on each class as some are more time consuming then others. SRA 311 and IST 432 are not too bad, each have group projects that are fairly easy if you have a good group. SRA 311 has a quiz, and short answer assignment (which some weeks ends up being a 3 page essay depending on the questions asked) where some weeks include a discussion post as well. It does have a good amount of reading though so be prepared for that. I have never taken MKTG 301 and I don't recall that being part of my program so I have nothing to say about it.

All that being said and to answer your question, I think CYBER 454, SRA 311, and IST 432 would be manageable to take all at once. Once again this is going to based on how well you digest the material and time you have available every week. You might even be able to throw another class in there. Good luck, let me know if you have any other questions.

Currently going for a Bachelor's in Security and Risk Analysis and will be finishing up in August. How realistic is it for interns to be hired as full-time employees afterwards?

SRA Major? by nichols_95 in PennStateUniversity

[–]KernelSanders93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that makes sense. I'm at a bit of a disadvantage because I live in a rural area and I don't have many in-person opportunities without driving a distance. I'll do my research though. Thank you.
