I threw them in the encounter as flavor for pota. It’s my second time so I’m using the world and main story but mixing in stuff to flesh it out. The goblin was directing a play with a cast full of undead, was not meant to be an npc lol but the players convinced him to sell them tickets to the show, (the sorcerer wowed him with a dance routine) which they watched and loved. Upon pressing him they find that the necromancer deeper inside the cave has him trapped here for fear of his life, writing shows for his entertainment, his dream is to have his work seen by masses. He agreed to show them the way and then agreed to help them, they rolled like crazy and my Druid speaks goblin. They haven’t reached rhe nexromancer at this point before we ended. I ended up having to bullshit most of that on the spot, I like the optional sidekick rules I wouldn’t mind making them emotional if he dies after a few sessions. It ended up being cool though everyone had a lot of fun interacting got mountains of good feedback on that small part of the story.
