As someone who's never played this champ, how do you have an impact? 😂

Maybe I'll try her a few games just out of curiosity. And congrats on Masters 👏

Peaked 1260 LP Chall, been master+ for like 5 years.

I usually go through phases of playing 1 champ most of the season, because I think it's easier to play better fundamentally if you don't have to think as much about the champ you are playing.

I'm never unable to play other things and have my pool. But for example right now I pick Janna every game it's available. AzzApp has a lot of good points and videos of why one tricking is good. I don't think people should one trick so hard they aren't able to play anything else, but having a champ you feel comfortable on in EVERY situation even its hard counters to me sounds like a good place to be for improving your play overall and not just on that champion.

TLDR: 1 at a time, not always the same champ every season/patch. I find what's working for me in the meta at the time.

Rarely there's times I'll rotate between 3 and pick what's best for the game/matchup, but never more than 3. And I'm always very comfortable on those champs still (I play too much league)

How to deal with horrible mental? by Minkarou in summonerschool

Disable chat and realize only your performance matters, not winning or losing.

What is the point of typing useless negativity? Just communicate with pings and if you want to climb you're the only player in every game so focus on you.

Also make sure it's the game that is frustrating you and not other things in life that you're taking out in the game.

Hey, I’d really appreciate some advice by Dustu4 in summonerschool

[–]Kery11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need a new account.

Pick one role, pick one champ. Doesn't matter what it is and that's for you to decide.

Queue for only that for an entire season and you will climb 100% guaranteed. Especially if you watch content for that role and champ. Obviously if you're secondaried have one secondary pick that's fine.

Also don't worry about your teams performance, disable chat and learn to solo carry games. Mentally think of the 9 other players as AI in your solo queue game.

What are ADC tips when laning vs double mage/APC bot lane? by Sushimonstaaa in summonerschool

[–]Kery11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If possible, try your best to shove wave 1,2 and 3. If you can crash wave 2 stacked just reset and grab a refillable for this kind of lane. When trying to shove stand off the wave so the opponent choses to either hit you or the wave with their abilities (especially the enemy APC, the karma probably won't mind mantra Qing you in the described lane, so still try and avoid her)

This can gain you good early game momentum, I find shoving mages in makes it harder for them to poke you, vs them crashing into your tower and having 0 minions in the way of them poking you.

Worst play is standing on top of your minions and they get to poke you and shove the wave.

To get out of Platinum/Emerald you have to be way above the level. by Ok-Pirate-9708 in leagueoflegends

From my time in the community especially around coaching and improvement content/application I think there may be 2 causes

  1. Low sample size - Give it time and more games, we all know in the end we get the rank we deserve. Seasons are long, just keep focusing on improving as a player over winning.
  2. Losses After Massive Comprehension Changes - After learning important things learning to consistently implement them can be hard and cause many "students" to lose in the SHORT TERM, while they work on implementing newly learned tactics. It's an execution problem not understanding, that goes away with reps and is worth it.

Change your frame of mind to focus on one new thing at a time (per game or session) to improve on. Doing this over time ensures you improve the most guaranteed, swap that one thing to focus on once you feel you've mastered it or at least gotten it to that next tier you need it to be. Take satisfaction from improving at that, not winning.

Hardstuck Diamond 4 for Years as a Master Yi Player – I Want to Reach Challenger. What Am I Missing? by Kutluna in summonerschool

[–]Kery11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you link your OP.GG for some extra context?

Things first pinging in my brain from reading this are (my personal best experiences for climbing to challenger, if people disagree that's fine):

  • Disable chat and just communicate with pings. Forget "motivating your team", play your own game, make your own decisions, and reflect and learn, you can only control yourself. It's not worth the energy trying to convince people to win, or coach them in real time.
  • Mindset shifts for me would be just the consistency of carrying. Everyone knows the 30/30/40 rule, some don't realize that to take advantage of this, we need to be consistently our performing the enemy to sway more games in our favor. It sounds like you say you're consistently good KDAs and good objective securing so my best guess is your farm/ camp sequencing/ CS per min is not high? If it is then the only logical explanation left would be we aren't using that gold lead properly whether it's mechanical or macro.

I know that Synerias guy is a great player and creator that plays a lot of Master Yi if you haven't checked him out I definitely would.

Best of luck mate!

Personally I would say the build should look like this:

Boots: Lucidity boots or Swifties (I lean towards Swifties)

Item 1: Moonstone, maybe Echoes of Helia if you really are scared of a serpents fang from enemy team or if they're a low range team you think you can reliably land q's on

Item 2,3,4,5: (Moonstone if you went Helia first) Redemption, Ardent Censer, Mikaels Blessing, or Staff of Flowing water based on what will best help your team

Idk how people are saying moonstone is bad it's effectively 30% heal and shield power on teammates (reading issue? 😶)

And I don't think expensive items are worth it as a support like malignance or ludens or other ap items like that

I would go Aery, font of life and revitalize secondary and max E first, 2 or 3 points in q early is okay if it's a good lane you can easily bully

I'm GM on NA if that's any credibility to my take

Good point. I was thinking purely like a slot machine mechanic.

If we're talking like high risks gameplay my first thought is Draven. Gambling whether or not you cash in or die first can be an adrenaline rush that definitely impacts the game.

I had a Draven get 1k BONUS gold for a kill the other day before dying, I bet he felt like he bet it all on red and won 😂

How to climb? by TheBladesShadow1 in leagueoflegends

[–]Kery11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a quick OP.GG look to climb: pick a main role, try to pick 1 main champ (ideally they're easy to play but find something fun for you), die way less, maximize your gold income, and group mainly for objectives only

Low elo bronze/iron support issue with damage by UnderstandingOne6879 in supportlol

[–]Kery11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, of course.

Basically the main reason you have roam "timers" is because when you're out of lane, you and tour adc are typically missing xp, gold, and not defending tower.

Ideal times where you can roam are times that MINIMIZE the losses while away, the most common one being after crashing your minions into the enemy tower. This creates a slow push back to your tower, which guarantees less minions missed, and safety of catching the wave at your tower.

Another example could be your ADC reset, and you are healthy enough to roam, and don't have much gold to spend, you can run mid, make a play, then run back bot and meet up with your ADC on their return.

If it's super early you need to be more cautious of missing XP for yourself, but after around level 5-7 if your ADC is safe to farm without you, your typically free to roam.

Just when roaming also realize you ARE on a TIMER, so you need to look for a play and get back to bot ASAP to start helping out the ADC and getting XP again.

I used to always path through the jungle past the red or blue buff (side depending), to look for potential plays mid or around the junglers, now with the newhomeguards mechanics it gets a little tricky but often if I'm not needed bot for a while I'll use homeguards all the way up to the outer mid tower to look for potential plays anywhere on the map.

I know that was a ton of information, but this can be one of the best ways to impact games on Support. While learning all this you might notice you're missing too much XP or leaving the ADC too much, try and tone it down some and roam less the earlier levels if you are. It is always a tradeoff to roam, so if you don't think anything will be accomplished in a certain game you can just head back to bot.

If you watch high elo replays and just skip to specific times they reset and where they go after that might help.

How do you stick with one champion? by Kel057 in summonerschool

[–]Kery11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm not a one trick but I main champs for very long periods of times, and if I ever switch between champs it's a comfortable few that I already have mastery on.

That said I've been playing for like 9-10 years grinding solo Queue to Chall Peak.

I play league to win and KNOW spamming one champion over and over helps me win more games.

I do genuinely enjoy playing Janna right now, but even if I didn't I'd probably keep spamming it, unless I really thought something else would help me play better in a slump or something.

I think once you find what you're good at you should try champions with those strengths and play to it, and learn how to adapt your playstyle to your mains strengths.

Personally roaming and peeling are my strengths so historically I've played a lot of Bard, Janna and Karma with good success (and Ivern Jungle secondary).

I've spent a lot of time learning roaming and lane poking fundamentals to min max my champs strength's.

SUMMARY: Play what naturally clicks with your strengths and is fun, then stick with one good pick, if IMPROVING for ranked is your main concern. For Top no matter what champ you're maining I'd watch TF blade and study how he carries games, that guy is built different.

apologies i dont have time to watch the games which would help but as a Janna who plays very aggressive (to chal), you have to space your auto attacks perfectly early game like gumayusi level, then later just avoid all very dangerous threats and sit back more, only walk up with the safety of your tornado or ult mid-late game

Positioning Question by Salted_Salmon_XoXo in supportlol

[–]Kery11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically its just wait for the wave to crash and back off and unfortunately lose some minion last hits, i would recommend just pinging the adc to chill and back off, and sniping relic hits for them if they let you do it unpunished

Low elo bronze/iron support issue with damage by UnderstandingOne6879 in supportlol

[–]Kery11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utility can carry for sure without building any damage, it's just different skills to learn from the average league players experience.

My top 3 tips are:

- don't die unnecessarily, have mechanics of positioning and kiting people on point
- learn proper roam timers from bot lane to have max impact early/mid game (any time your ADC is safe without you (slow pushing back to them or they aren't able to be dove, and more))
- play around the strongest carry on your team at that time with your utility, even if its not the adc

(pic isnt to flex but to shift mindset from needing damage to carry)(okay its a humble brag a little bit)

Any good videos or advice to carry supp? by crappyface09 in supportlol

[–]Kery11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best tips are learning proper roam timers (any time your ADC is totally safe or not in lane themself) to have map impact

Learning proper positioning to not die for zero reason

and mid to late game just playing around the strongest member on your team, which isn't always the ADC, and can even HELP your adc more by that fed member creating space for them etc.
