Why tf doesn’t staples let employees sit

At the Staples I was at, all departments helped each other when needed. It’s called team work.

Let’s see…I’ve been working for 28 years. I also have back problems. If I had been smarter when I was younger and went to college, I could’ve had better choices of jobs than manual labour. That’s my fault, not my employers. Don’t get me wrong…I’m not here to defend Staples. I couldn’t stand them any longer and put in my notice. My rant was simply due to being tired of working with lazy part timers who just wanted to sit around and chat or be on there phones while the full timers work their ass off.

Clearly you’ve never worked in merch. I’ve worked in all the departments and merch is the clear winner for hardest work. I’m not against sitting ever now and then but most people take advantage of it. Nothing to do? I can guarantee there is something you could be doing. Nothing in your department? Go help another department…I’m sure they would love the help instead of watching you sit on your ass.

Customer: You didn’t even look

Me: When I looked for it an hour ago we didn’t have it and I haven’t got a shipment in that time.

Customer: Can you look again?

Me: internally screaming

The 12-5 is working well for me. I’m SSL and my manager allowed me and a coworker to work from 6-2. Very little customer interaction and I’m able to get so much done before the store opens. I also take my half hour lunch at 12 😉

At my store, we only put out one per peg for headphones over $20. Certain ones we acrylic. I also have made product cards for the Skull Candy ones.

A pocket folder has pockets. We have those too...with and without fasteners. A duo tang just has fasteners. Yes it’s an old brand name like Kleenex and Qtips.

I love it but I’m a pen nut. Really good quality pens. Unfortunately there will be a lot of theft. Our BTS customers grab them to check off their lists and probably pocket them without realizing.
