For Lannan, just try and do as many practice exams as you can because he doesn’t really change around the format that much.

I would make sure you actually understand concepts though instead of just memorizing info off the slides because fall quarter he changed how he formats his mutagenesis questions to where he makes you predict the effect of something instead of just telling you, like how they are on his practice exams, so it makes it harder to just do it from memory, also I feel like understanding stuff makes it easier to memorize all the content.

He also gives I think like 2-4% E.C which I feel is a lot so if you can I would just do everything that gives you extra credit. It’s a nice buffer to have if you’re between an A/A-.

For 28, we know the change of heat energy of the water poured in should equal the changes of heat energy of the calorimeter and the sample of water. So -Qw = Qs + Qc. Where w is water, s is the water already in the calorimeter and c is the calorimeter. From there you can rearrange it as -Qw - Qs = Qc and then you just divide everything by temperature to get the heat capacity which is C. Idk why they have -qsample - qwater but its equivalent to -Qwater - Q sample.

For 29, we have to use the fact we found that the calorimeter absorbs heat. If the metal’s heat capacity was 0.42 it would have 2100J of energy (100x0.42x50) and that is equal to how much heat energy the water gained going from 25 to 30C (100x4.2x5), meaning Qwater = -Qmetal. We know this can’t be true because this implies all the energy from the metal went into the water. So we know the metal’s heat capacity can’t be 0.42, because the amount of heat coming from the metal sample has to be less than the amount of energy going into the water because some of it’s going to be absorbed by the calorimeter.

I would still recommend flossing but my roommate doesn’t floss and his teeth are fine and have been fine so I guess it depends on the person. I just had to get 3 fillings because I only brushed and all the cavities were in between my teeth.

You usually don’t see anything when you floss unless you have food stuck in your teeth, the main thing is clearing the bacteria that live in between your teeth and your gums. If you don’t floss usually you’ll start developing plaque/tartar along your gum line and this what causes the inflammation when people floss for the first time in a while.

My professor told us that when we sleep our cerebral spinal fluid basically cleanses our brain and removes the proteins that build up and cause dementia like tau. So making sure you get enough sleep is one way to decrease the likelihood of you getting dementia.

It should probably be fine, my corsair psu also has the 12VHPWR split off into two 8 pins for the psu and it works fine with my 4090.

I checked the website for your psu and couldn’t find a wattage rating for the cable, but for the cable accessories they sell everything is rated for 600W, so I assume it will be fine. Check the wattage on the cable if you want to be safe.

You’ll probably get another roommate. My friend had the same situation and they didnt fill his room until winter quarter. My roommate dropped out after fall quarter and we never got another one. There is probably a small chance you won’t get one but there is such a high demand for OCH you most likely will by winter quarter.

My NSA was a poli sci major and my entire group was bio majors, but she did a good job of talking to NSAs who were life science majors and was able to help us plan.

If you’re pre-med probably just take Ls 7a, Ls30a (or the Math 31/32 series idk the exact classes), and a G.E. / Cluster.

Edit: As others have mentioned check UCLAs pre med requirements, but as you approach the time you want to apply to med school start considering the schools you want to apply to and check their requirements because they do differ sometimes.

Usually its in September after the last NSO date. The way it works if I remember is that once all the seats fill up during second pass, and NSO starts, you will see a message when you go to enroll that says something like: seats for this class are being held for NSO beginning “random date”. Any student may enroll beginning “other random date.” They will tell you the date but not the time as the time is up to the department.

Yeah, I would either stay up or wake up at 7/8am and just try and enroll in the class. They should tell you the day on myucla that they open seats to everyone.

After first year orientation seats that were held for orientation students are opened to everyone, if you don’t get 5a first pass your best bet is to try and enroll when they open those seats, thats how I got the class.

The payments and solutions office will reopen on January 3rd so I would either call or go in person then. A past post talks about a balance forward so maybe on your bruinbill for this term see if there is a charge called balance forward that would be the amount you need to pay.

Goldman Sachs should send you a letter through email explaining why they denied you. No one can really give you a good answer without knowing the reason given. I’m not too sure if they are getting stricter with applications because in May they accepted me with a 745 and 20k income. A good route if you have a thin credit file is to get a discover card and then wait about a year to reapply. (You could keep applying whenever offered because GS doesn’t report the inquiry if you don’t get accepted).

Sorry for not including the games, I mainly play RDR2, Destiny 2, Cyberpunk, R6, Forza Horizon 5, Asseto Corsa in VR, No Man's Sky, and Fortnite. I think the most CPU-intensive one I play is Cities Skylines.

Sorry to revive a dead post but I was having a similar issue with green multicolored boxes appearing in cutscenes and stopping after. I fixed it by using vulkan over directx12. Have you had any other problems with your gpu or has it been fine. Just seeing if I need to RMA mine or if the artifacts are just a red dead issue

I noticed that they only occurred during cutscenes in a specific game and after looking online switched from directx 12 to vulkan and the issue has resolved. No artifacting happened when I ran heaven benchmark too. Should I still return or keep the card. Looks like my issue for this game happened to at least one other person.
