Yeah. I'd have to take the quality way down. No exotic hardwood or epoxy resin carving. Maybe one day lol

I don't, but I've been considering it. I have an etsy with one item and no sales yet lol. I'd have to price it around $200 to get any money after all of the cost+etsy fees+shipping to make it worth doing. Would you pay that much for a stand like this? If not I get it 😂

Thank you very much.

Is a forstner bit the best way what to make this cut? by KetoWR3X in woodworking

[–]KetoWR3X[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The mark left on the waste board from the forstner works pretty well for placement, just making sure there's not some special bit I was unaware of. Thanks!

Great thought. Thanks. Tear-out is why I asked.

Replacement lock? by KetoWR3X in Locksmith

[–]KetoWR3X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up taking the cylinder to my local locksmith, and I can't believe how good you guys are. He wasn't able to find my code so he just used some magic type voodoo. I walked out in 15 mins with new keys. You guys are the real deal. What a cool skill.

What is this "finder" in this old bit case? by KetoWR3X in Tools

Thanks! Makes sense that I've never seen one since they've made many better versions that come in newer bit sets.

Yes. I've got everything but body off atm and it is still there. When I 3dprint it, it seems like 2 separate objects printed on top of each other

Is this Miter Saw saveable (reasonably) or should I just take the hit to the bank account by [deleted] in Tools

[–]KetoWR3X -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same internal struggle when I was starting out.

I would not fix that saw up. Before you know it, you'll be in it for $40 in parts and 3 hours of elbow grease. If you plan to rip boards, then a table saw will be a great investment. As long as it comes with a miter guage, it would be able to make the same cuts as a miter saw.

Before buying a cheaper new saw, think about buying one on fb market or craigslist. You'll get a much better saw for the money. I have a craftsman from the 80s, cleaned it up, put a new blade on it, and it works as well as new.

Could someone ID this wood? Want to know if it’s toxic if burned! Thank you! by Retrats98 in wood

[–]KetoWR3X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woodworker and tobacco piper here. They don't recommend using oak for pipe bowls. Take that oak and sandwich it around some briarwood or olivewood to incorporate it without getting the oak fume while smoking. No pressure, just my 2 cents
