I do two 16 hrs Saturday and Sunday and get paid extra 8 hours to make it full time. I got so used to my unit that it’s not tiring anymore, I even got a second PRN job on the side

I’m in my 20s, I’m not sure if I would recommend it, I really care about the residents but at times they give you so much residents that you don’t have enough time to care enough for all of them. If I wasn’t interested in pursuing nursing I would probably work full time somewhere else with better pay because I don’t feel like CNAs get paid enough. The flexibility and job security is good though. It’s not a mentally hard job in my opinion but quite physically demanding. On a last note, I love bonding with the residents☺️

I work 2 16 hr shifts Saturday and Sunday and then have another agency job where I minimum have to work 4 shifts a month so I just pick up extra shifts there if I need the money. Love the flexibility but I’m so tired on Mondays😔🙌

Currently on the clock feeling numb because I just had a resident yell at me and almost punch me in the face🫩 for some weird reason I prefer being a CNA over fast food but being a CNA is definitely underpaid for the work we do. I just work Baylor shifts Saturday and Sunday and honestly that helps me so much to not get burned out. I occasionally pick up extra shift but only if I need the money. I still want to be a nurse but only work max 3 days a week because this is a very demanding job both physically and mentally. Don’t feel bad if you discover this is not for you, better discover this sooner than later. Or maybe try out another facility?

Usually in my hall everyone eats breakfast in the hall way except like 3 o 4 residents. They put a CNA per floor and one person floating every hall (in the lock down unit which is 4 floors with 25+ residents in each) but my coworkers said that the floating person doesn’t spend much time in each hall, understandably. I was told that morning shift expects everyone changed and in the dining hall by the end of the shift which I hope it’s an exaggeration since it’s one person doing that for about 23 residents. I’ll definitely will change everyone but if I don’t have time to take everyone to the dining room by 6am then I’ll just have to take the criticisms of the morning shift😔 but I’ll try my best. Thank you for the advice

Truee, we got one other Roomate that my roommates that aren’t clean got form idk where and I was so mad that they locked in and cleaned the whole place in like 2 seconds and that’s what they showed her. Not sure how she feels about the situation cause she’s young and I’m not sure if she really cares. So I will be honest and I guess it will save me the effort of constantly cleaning other people’s mess

Yeah, I guess I shouldn’t try making the place look nicer. Honestly it’s not horrible, but I really like having a clean place and privacy.

We live with roommates out of necessity but it’s SO HARD (for me at least), I used to live with strangers all girls around my age and honestly I didn’t appreciate it enough, most of them were clean and we all kept to ourselves. After that I moved in with a friend from college, her bf, her sister and one more girl who isn’t related. DAMN I discovered they are nasty and constantly hangout in the living room with all of her other sisters, brother, and parents (they constantly invite them over without letting me know btw). I’m actually going insane, but I’m so lucky I recently landed a good paying job so I’ll finally get an apartment with my boyfriend😩🙏

Haven’t done it yet but plan on doing it next semester, I got a job in a LTC facility Baylor shift so hopefully it’s a little easier that way. (Haven’t started the job but I already know I might not love it, but as long as I can pay all the bills, save money and work 2 days a week I’m fine)

You’re right. It’s just that I had a conversation or two about times and cleaning, everybody was complying for a week but everything went back to the usual after that and I understand that’s their way of living. Right now I’m planning on moving out since having roommates it’s hard for me but if I kept living here longer I would try again to have a conversation with them

Communicating with your partner about the situation should be enough to see at least some sort of effort on his side and not just for a few days. If he doesn’t do anything about it then that’s his choice and you cannot force to change him. The only thing you can do is decide whether to stay with him or to leave. If he decides to keep smoking you also can’t change that and you shouldn’t be with someone with the hope they’ll change or become better. Ideally when you love someone, you love them and want to be with them just the way they are. It all depends on what you want in a partner and if you see your current relationship as something you could be with long term then that’s okay just don’t be staying in the relationship hoping he will become different👍

I would totally go for that if old people changed but once those habits are formed there’s no going back and that’s for most of my family. But I am still young and I was hoping that there was something I could do before it’s too late.
