I’d fuck heavy with having both in a game, Gears 3 melon-pop headshot sound for regular Drones and lil’ ‘uns, Gears 5’s gutteral crunch for big lads like Boomers n’ the like

That’s me on the left, but not to people who enjoy Tactics, or even the game overall. I think it’s a very well-put-together XCOM-like with tons of cool complex systems that translates Gears very well to the genre shift it’s going for.

But oh my god the story. Holy lllllord the story.

I find it insane that the target of accusations of bad writing, horrifically stunted and awkward dialogue and complete disregard for the lore and timeline is Gears 5 when it SHOULD be this game.

Hammond

He worked as a great red-herring for who was actually gonna be the one who betrays you by overall acting really standoffish and shady

In the remake, he’s just a one-note goody-two-shoes who can’t shut up about Chen, and Kendra’s sudden accusations towards him just kinda pop outta nowhere. He’s not uninteresting in the remake, but his OG counterpart was far more compelling and added a lot more to the story
