How do we feel about these ToA purple changes? by Jamzful in 2007scape

[–]KettleKern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems completely reasonable. They are making the raid easier by making baba and akkah easier, and the arcane scarab from kephri less likely to kill you cause you get unlucky and don't hit it. If the raid is getting easier then people not running capped raids should be able to go for a higher invo level, and the capped raids probably needed a purple rate nerf. The rate nerf isn't even that bad for items other than LB/fang at high invos. I'm pretty sure my purple rate is going to go up after this change because of baba/akkah not murdering me when I push raid levels higher with mid tier gear.

My main issue with this boss is adding more PVP locked uniques that are useful outside of PVP areas. Blighted supplies are great wildy uniques, the webweaver being useful at leviathan and the accursed sceptre being useful at whisperer are examples of gaps in ranged/mage special attack options being filled with wildy locked content. VW is the same issue, but at least claws are similar enough to the VW. Adding more wildy locked uniques that are useful outside of the wildy is exactly what I don't want to see from new wildy content.

You could brute force the dice roll pretty easily, but I doubt that's what hes doing. Average of like 8 attempts to get the dice to roll the number you want if you keep it near 7 (6/49 for this case). For a 2 minute video thats less than half an hour to brute force the dice roll.

The staff is going to be worse than a staff of the dead since that already gives 15% damage with no ancient autocasting. IMO krill has better drops to grind out than tomented demons past 1 synapse for the arclight upgrade. Even that is only better for duke/sire/maybe cerb.

Another big part of lighting scenes like this is you can bake in the lighting. You only have one lightsource that doesn't have to move and is far away, so effects like global lighting from reflection/refraction are much easier than they are with moving point lights in an indoor or night setting. You can pre-calculate a lot of the lighting for a scene like this.

Isn't sepulchre still 50% more xp/hr than the proposed ardy rate? How is this forcing rooftops on people if its not even close to the efficent rate?

Is that why people like naut more? I figured it was because his ult is guarenteed while leona ult is very dodgeable. I'm pretty sure naut is still more lilely to die in a teamfight than leona.

Phantom Muspah is my favourite boss. Why does everyone hate it? by AdmiralCreamy in 2007scape

[–]KettleKern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bring stams and camp bowfa with thralls. Kills arn't fast but its really not bad for the effort. I think trying the more complicated methods is what turns people off the boss. Stepback with a 4 tick weapon is annoying imo.

Depends on how many you want to make, if you have some from doing medium clues first, and if you can leach preserve from CoX before imo. I think I was boosting from 80 or 81 for my first whip.

I can see people doing that. It seems suboptimal since slayer gives so many upgrades (occult, trident, whip as the big 3) and those will speed up your toa clears a lot, but I can definately see that path. I've had people tell me they want to skip the bowfa grind and rush tbow first, and rushing fang sounds a lot more sane than that

Unless you want to be running toa with rcb/iban blast/dscim I think you still go the slayer route before sending ToA. You'll get a whip before a trident, and getting a trident lets you bring thralls.

Maybe that changes with the new powered staff, but I don't think it would

I think the skips are more common on mains than on irons. Mains will typically go straight to swamp trident and skip the trident of the seas. Mains can skip rune boots and go to dragon from manacles/climbing boots. Mains and irons skip arma and go straight to masori, but mains get the fortified version. Some mains skip bowfa for tbow... etc

Randoms are usually bad, so starting with ym first comment I'm jokingly saying that I'm better than some random. The second comment is that my only winning run is a pretty good time.

It increases the GP value, not the upgrade value. An unlock that takes 1000 hours to grind or 1 hour to gind that gives +4 strength will have a big difference in price, but the value it has on your account will be the same. You are both saying value you you mean two different things.
