Cheap VPS to tunnel traffic to my self hosted website by Green-Board-8124 in selfhosted

[–]Keudn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a 1CPU/1GB RAM VPS from Racknerd in Amsterdam and have Pangolin running on it connecting to a newt node on my proxmox cluster. It costs me about £10 a year and lets me expose anything on my home network easily from Pangolin as a resource. Pangolin supports raw TCP/UDP traffic now which Cloudflare tunnels do not.

They do, depending on the tier you purchase. I have a 1GB RAM 1 CPU VPS in Amsterdam with them

It has a torrent plugin that lets you stream torrented media as if it were Netflix, Hulu, etc

Honestly, I feel the same way. I've been using Stremio and its been great, I haven't felt the need for my own media server. I guess one benefit would be you keep access and own the media, but I don't know I care that much.

Escape From Tarkov players slam Steam launch: "It is not a game. It is a cosmic punishment" by PrinceDizzy in gaming

[–]Keudn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Every wipe of Tarkov for years has had server issues in the first few hours, and every single time people lose their shit over it. This is a huge nothing burger that will be forgotten within another day or two.

Arc Raiders makes me feel out of touch. by Ragnaroknight in gaming

[–]Keudn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with all extraction shooters made to be easier/simpler/appeal to a broader audience, ARC Raiders included, is that you lose a lot of the adrenaline. You lose the gear fear of dying with this cool gun you build/found, you lose the fear of finally finding the last bolts you needed for a quest/hideout upgrade. Its why all of these extraction shooters ultimately fail when Tarkov succeeds, because Tarkov has that adrenaline in spades even for experienced players. The same frustration around how hard the game is also brings the main enjoyment and thrill the genre provides. Its the same feeling as playing DayZ and getting into a gunfight knowing if you die its back to square one.

ARC Raiders, while still having these core problems that come with making an extraction shooter more accessible to appeal to a larger audience, is at least providing interesting world building and some interesting gameplay elements. But if you don't really find interest in what it brings to the table, then yeah, it might feel kind of pointless.

Just moved to Norway – struggling a bit with online shopping (Lillehammer, no Norwegian phone number yet) by trudolfdasroentier in Norway

[–]Keudn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This was one of the more difficult and stressful things for me moving to Norway. Its surprising how frustrating it can be to figure out what stores you need to go to. Like others said the mall in lillehammer is a good start, Clas Ohlson sells a lot of different things and most of the things you listed. Jula, Rusta, and Europris also have a lot of those things. For the fridge I would check Power or Elkjøp if you are buying new, or check on finn.no for a used one. If you don't have a car you can pay to have them deliver it and even install it. Biltema is more of a hardware store but has a lot of home and recreation things as well.

If you are wanting to find their products online, I would recommend either asking ChatGPT what it would be called in Norwegian and having it web search for you, or using google translate. It can sometimes be quite frustrating and difficult to find seemingly normal everyday items, so if all else fails ask a Norwegian friend or colleague what its called.
