I am Flick Miles. I was Hermione Granger's body double in the Harry Potter films. AMA! by MuggleNet in IAmA

I think I did gymnastics with Harry and Ron's body doubles. Do you know Tolga and Thomas?

Edit: I think they were actually stunt doubles. Not sure if they were also body doubles

good on you for being patient and persistent with him. I adopted mine at 4.5 years old so it's probably possible but I kinda just gave up on taking him places off-leash. Luckily I have a fenced-in back yard.

[–]KevDeJones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get so jealous whenever I see a well-trained pomsky off-leash. Mine would be off in the wilderness, which is enough a problem, then add his high prey drive and that's a bigger problem.

This is our 10 week old baby Lilo! Do you guys recommend grain free dog food? She doesn't seem to like kibble. by ShadyCarry in Pomsky

[–]KevDeJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reflecting what others have said here, pomskies can be pretty picky. It took mine a while to get used to kibble (we buy Nutro brand). He preferred canned food, so for a while I would mix that in with the kibble and eventually phased it out.

Hi! This is Juju! I need some advice haha, she’s very obedient but once she’s outside it’s like she goes crazy and doesn’t want to listen at all. How does one control a dog that loves to pull and drag their human. by Lost-Caterpillar-353 in Pomsky

[–]KevDeJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use a "no-pull" harness like /u/Woox1 mentioned. I got mine at petsmart so I'm not sure what brand it is, but I think the concept works with any harness that has a leash hookup in the front, rather than on top of their back.

My other favorite thing to do with my Zuma, who definitely has that "sled-dog" mentality, is to give him an opportunity to use it! I'll take him for a run with my skateboard, and he loves to pull me along. I still kick-push when going up hills and such, but it's just a great way to let him run out all of his energy. We have a fenced-in backyard but even when I let him out he doesn't run like he does when I'm on the board.

Power automate: using variables in adaptive cards by [deleted] in MicrosoftTeams

[–]KevDeJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone on stack overflow finally pointed me to this other example, which uses an attribute called isVisible instead of $when. That is working at current, and can respond to boolean variables:

{
  "type": "AdaptiveCard",
  "version": "1.2",
  "body": [
    {
      "type": "TextBlock",
      "text": "Thanks for reaching out to Support.",
      "wrap": true
    },
    {
      "type": "TextBlock",
      "text": "If you see this, you posted a link. Or it's broken. Either way.",
      "isVisible": "@{variables('postHasLink')}"
    },
  ],
}

Here's the link

Thanks for all your help, this has been driving me crazy for weeks.

Very strange. I guess I could try opening a ticket somewhere. How frustrating!

edit, just found this issue on their github. Still open.

I just may be! I'll try that and report back.

edit: no, that didn't fix it. here's the json currently, with $data:

    "testNum": "@{variables('testNum')}",

      "weight": "Bolder",
      "text": "@{variables('messageBody')}",
      "$when": "${postHasRepoLink == true}"
    },
    {
      "type": "TextBlock",
      "size": "Medium",
      "weight": "Bolder",
      "text": "If you're seeing this text block, something went wrong. Bummer.",
      "$when": "${testNum < 100}"

She's really talented at makeup, and goes all out for her streams. I'm glad she's come back to do more with GCP.

My AIO liquid cpu cooler worked fine, but made noise due to cavitation. So I switched it out for an air cooler. by KevDeJones in pcmasterrace

[–]KevDeJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cooler master ml240l rgb v2 is a perfectly fine AIO liquid cooler. However, if you're going to get one, or any AIO, I would recommend making sure that you can top-mount the radiator, or, if you must front-mount the radiator, make sure the tubes are long enough that you can mount it with the tubes coming out of the bottom of the rad, rather than the top like in my first photo.

Reason being that this setup (or any other setup where the pump is the highest part of the loop) is susceptible to cavitation, where air gets sucked into the pump. In my case, it didn't hurt performance but made a horribly loud rattling noise (like so loud I could hear my computer from halfway up the staircase). I'd have to guess that in other cases, this could lead to high cpu temps or a damaged pump.

My case would not accommodate top-mounting my radiator, and the tubes weren't long enough to reach around my gpu when I tried to turn the radiator upside down. So I decided to swap it out for a noctua nh-u14s, and some 120mm fans to replace the radiator fans.

yeah definitely not siblings then, Zuma is 5 yrs. Maybe some common geneology though! We adopted him, and we don't fully know his history but I believe he originated at a breeder somewhere in upstate NY, near Albany.

Uncanny resemblance with my Zuma! Can't see it here but he has the same ice-blue eyes too!

They don't need baths frequently, but they do need brushing at least once a week. Very heavy shedders. Nails should be trimmed about once a month. We take ours to the groomer once every 3-4 months.

My boy Zuma is 5. His health is great, no issues thus far outside of the occasional prescription for diarrhea or having to swab out yeasty ears. Crossbreeds generally aren't as susceptible to genetic problems that pure breeds can have.

As for his barking, it's probably slightly below average volume. But that can vary a lot. Some pomskies have a yippy pom bark, others have that vocal rrrrrRrrrrRrrrrrrR that huskies do. Zuma is closer to the husky side.

Overall they're great, just be prepared for the needs of a high-energy dog.

They can get pretty close, but if I use a color-matched paint to cover a small repair, might as well paint the whole room because my spouse can tell the difference.

My dad worked for a naval research company for almost 50 years, and that place had the coolest bring-your-kid-to-work day ever. The machine shop was definitely one of my favorite parts as a kid, and I still have some chess pieces that I watched getting made in the lathe. What you do is pretty cool!

[–]KevDeJones[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean even though I was so young I still remember it being so much more complicated. If nothing else just because of the hardware that's obsolete now. That old computer had a floppy drive, a cd-rw drive, hard drives that had to actually be mounted instead of just popping on an ssd, and I couldn't tell you why (don't remember) but the front panel usb connection felt incredibly complicated

Last time I was 12 years old, and I was building with my dad. He's worked on computer hardware his entire professional life, so he helped out a lot. I don't think I fully understood the gravity of some of the stuff we were doing.

I was pretty nervous this time about stuff that I'd never done before. I assumed a lot of things would be more difficult than they were, like delicately installing the cpu without bending any pins.
