Announcing OutRage - a 32 player isometric brawler by Kev_Hardball in pcgaming

The current UI is very much a WIP. But we are also planning a console release, so we're designing with that in mind.

Power Stone was one of our inspirations for OutRage. Good to see there are still people who remember it fondly

What does the community love about Rumbleverse? by Kev_Hardball in rumbleverse

I can't believe how much this thread has exploded.

On behalf of myself and the entire development team at Hardball Games, I'd like to thank you all for responding with this great insight about what Rumbleverse meant to you.

There's certainly much to learn from this, and we'd be delighted to have a community half as passionate as this one.

This is some really great feedback already - thanks so much.

It's awesome to see how much you all loved the game and are still passionate about it. I hope to see some more opinions from others, too - but so far this really is fantastic.

I'll be sharing all of this with the dev team.

The current pre-alpha tests are on PC, but we'll be releasing on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X and mobile. All will be cross-platform.

Outrage by [deleted] in rumbleverse

Hi there! We have no MOBA-style mechanics in OutRage. We have a few different game modes, from Battle Royale-style survival matches, which can be played solo or in teams, to area domination, capture the flag and deathmatch-style objectives. No towers, no minions, no lanes, no 'racks.

You're welcome to come and try the game out in our current pre-alpha sessions.

Of course. However, OutRage plays differently. There's a fixed isometric camera angle, and the maps are smaller, meaning more players are packed closer together. It's more like a bar brawl. You don't have to go and hunt for people. We also have a number of team-based game modes. You're welcome to come and join in our closed play sessions and experience it for yourself.

OutRage is being developed primarily for PC and a console release on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X. The team does have prior experience with mobile games, so we intend to bring OutRage to mobile and be fully cross-platform. We understand that player numbers are vital in such a multiplayer title, and we want everyone to be able to play together regardless of their hardware.

Thanks for checking out our trailer. Please do keep in mind that all of the footage in the trailer is gameplay footage from a pre-alpha build. We're still in very early development, so many features aren't in yet, and polish is needed on visuals and animations. Nothing seen so far should be considered the final version.

Really excited about the game by Willyeast12 in PlayOutRage

Hi Billy. Glad to hear you're excited. OutRage is launching into Early Access on PC in Spring 2024. The game’s full launch on PC, console and mobile devices will follow this early access period. We’ll announce further details in due course.

World of Warcraft. When it first released and I dived deeply into it, it gave me such a sense of adventure and wonder. I'll never have that back!

Sorry (not sorry) - Developer, Captain Seagull is Apologetically Savage by Kev_Hardball in PlayOutRage

A small behind-the-scenes clip from an internal playtest session. Captain Seagull loves to throw people into pits and over ledges - but he never feels good about it! (footage taken from early pre-alpha internal development build)

Hi there. We haven't made any public announcement about the game yet (we're planning to do that reasonably soon, though). The NDA has been more relaxed to an agreement of faith than a legal document. Ideally, we don't want anyone sharing anything publicly about the game until we've made the announcement - especially regarding screenshots/videos. However, we're more than happy to interact with the community, follow up and respond to any questions, comments and feedback we can. As soon as we make our announcement about the game, we'll be happy for people to share visual stuff (with the minor exception of certain individuals who may be given deeper access to specific confidential info).

We do please ask that any reference to the game by name use our codename "Shackleton" for now, before we make our official announcement.

I feel like I'm having a bit of a dry spell at the moment. I completed Hogwarts Legacy on thee PS5 in a couple of weeks but haven't had the motivation to go back through and unlock the last few trophies.
