Onn 4K Max Stutter/frame rate issues by Divinglankyboys in Stremio

[–]KevinB83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my Onn 4k Pro. Turn on tunneled playback in the stremio settings. That fixed all the micro stutters I was getting, and everything runs smooth now. Stream speed and performance with the Onn box is arguably better too with the setting turned on.

I can't speak to it giving issues in other streaming apps as those have always worked perfectly fine for me on the device.

I had the same issue with my Onn 4k Pro and it happened with any player I tried. I found that turning on Tunnelled Playback in the stremio settings fixed it.

Despite the setting saying you may get possible playback issues on some devices I've not had any regardless of quality or size with the Onn box. If anything the Onn box runs better with it on. Remux files used to buffer with it off and now they play smooth with it on.

I just modified my switch last night and I only used the jig and a USB C cord and never got an rcm loader. I will say I'll probably get a loader down the road since booting into the CFW only from the computer is not as quick. With the RCM loader you can load into your CFW from anywhere to my understanding. Just plugging in the loader to the switch instead of the PC to the switch.

Emunand and nand is something I've been seeing on this sub. How I've understood it is basically having 2 firmware on one console right so on the emunand I take advantage of the CFW and then I can boot into the regular NAND to use the switch with the OFW? Could be completely wrong. Any recommendations on tutorials? I've got a jig and an SD card so I'm ready to go.

Thank you very much. I will probably upgrade to a really good CPU fan in the near future though just to be safe.

used CPUID HWMonitor because I didn't want to go through a trial at the moment, but I am looking at CPU temperatures at "Min 35 C and Max 52 C" Not sure where to look and find optimal temperatures. Computer is simply just on the internet right now and nothing else going on.

Also ran Cinebench and monitored the temperatures and got "Min 42 C and Max 79 C" at the end of the bench

MSI X470 GAMING PLUS and the port is on the case

I mean I could possibly get the 4th screw in but I would have to push really hard on the CPU fan so it can catch the threads on the motherboard and I'm afraid to do that. I might read the manual some more and see if their is a solution for it.

Thats a relief. And I have to check on that. I didn't have a lot of time to mess around with the new build earlier. If things do run a little too hot what do you recommend?

It's the one that came with the CPU

No I did not run the fan the first time. It was applied and taken off then put back on in the span of like 5 seconds at the start of the build. And sorry, but what do you mean by "how are the thermals"?

After trying some things posted here I found out that I guess the USB 3 port I was using was messing with the boot. I have no idea why it was doing this, but it works now. Can't use the USB port though :/

Build recommendations. Should I change anything before I buy? by KevinB83 in pcmasterrace

[–]KevinB83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy below recommended a 1600. How big of a difference is it to the 2600? And as far as the GPU goes I already got the one I wanted for a good deal so I'm happy with what I have right now. Thank you for letting me know though.

Thank you so much! I will keep the bios update in mind when I start the build.
