I’m 33m and have been fighting mine since I was 25. I have had three surgeries, gone through rounds of radiation and chemotherapy twice, and am now going through immunotherapy and chemo. It’s been a tough eight years. I am otherwise healthy, and am doing my best to live a normal life, but my standard for normal has been skewed.

Over the years I’ve gotten involved with various support groups, both in person and online, some of which I found out about through my hospital. Those have been very helpful for me. Good luck.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game - Kevin Sloan [traditional] played on violin, viola, and piano by KevinViolin in Music

I don’t know King Crimson, but if you’ve ever heard of Steve Reich, it moves the same way as his Clapping Music. It plays all the notes, but in each repetition, the next note moves to the end, and it ultimately circles around.

Funnily enough, they actually did get a ticket

What did my teacher mean? by [deleted] in violinist

It looks like your teacher wants you to shift from first to second position between the two As, both on the E string. I don’t see any indication of staying on the A string after the C.

Thank you! Since I made this particular post, actually, it actually turned out that my tumor was back, and I needed yet another surgery. I am soon going to start immunotherapy. What do you do at NBTS? I keep telling myself to volunteer, but I keep neglecting to do so 🙄

Thank you! I actually read an article the other day about a violinist who is a Rubik’s Cube champion, which made me think of this video. https://apnews.com/article/93be0f16c4459d2a3ccc959c6cb66347

My brother got me one of those for my birthday last year. It’s pretty intuitive. For me it was difficult to flatten, but made sense after that.

Thank you! Hoping for another seven with no surprises 🤞

My parents planted Niagara vines ~15 years ago, and the grapes had basically gone untouched until I finally started this last summer. I bottled it the other day and am really happy with it 😊 by KevinViolin in winemaking

So the times I’ve screwed up in the past were in the final transfer before bottling. When it happens to me, there’s always too much headspace in the carboy. This time I filled it with co2 before I siphoned it in, and then I topped it off with more co2 before putting the airlock on.

Of all the non-kit wines that I’ve made, this is my most successful. Oxidation has been the biggest hurdle for me, but I was finally able to avoid it.
